The AFC has been so pitiful in games against the NFC that the Steelers still at 2-3 have a solid shot at the wild card.

Assuming Pats, Ravens and Houston win their divisions, we are in a wild card race with Denver, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Jet, Dolphins. Of course, if we cannot get healthy, we will drop out of it. There aren't many good teams in the AFC. This should be a fun season to watch coming down the stretch. It would be great to get one win against the Ravens but the Bengals games may be more important this year.

    A fun season to watch?

If you like fingernails scraping against a chalkboard it might just be enjoyable.

Yeah, no thanks. Watched that same scenario last year only to watch us get TORCHED by Tebow in the first round of the playoffs. I think I will pass.

If we cannot win on the road....we AT BEST will be 8-8. Guess what...that misses the playoffs.

What road game are we winning?

    @ Cincy
    @ NY Giants
    @Cleveland
    @ Baltimore
    @ Dallas

Right now, I'm not sure we even have a shot at beating Baltimore and San Diego at home. That could put us as a 6 win team....ouch!

Browns and Dallas. If we can hold serve at home, maybe only getting thimped by the Ravens, we could be 9-7........

if we let the Offense win games we will be fine. We might have to become more like the packers and pats and have Ben and company win us games. I am sick and tired of everyone knowing what Defense is gonna get called, cause Dick refuses to adapt.

Take 3 deep shots minium to Wallace a game. Saunders will look great as the 2nd te and will be able to help block and let Heath work the middle of zones alot more. If Mendy can not go then throw dump passes to our rb in lue of runs. Raniey and batch in space is scary. Redman is good short yardage back.

I don't even know why anyone would be talking about the postseason at this point.

Exactly. It would be a total bloodbath against any of the top tier QB's. Brady would throw up 60 on this D easily. And Ike would break the all time record for PI/holding calls in a game with 10! I'll pass on that noise!

10-6 will get you in this year, I think without question. Rarely (about 10% of the time, since they went to 4-division in 2002) does a 10-6 team miss the playoffs.
There are only 5 teams in the AFC at 3-2 or better. So at least one of the teams that are 2-3 will get in.

For a 10-6 team to miss the playoffs, At least two of the 2-3 teams will have to got 8-3 the rest of the way, without one of the five 3-2 teams collapsing to 9-7. I think those are long odds.

If the Steelers go 10-6, they will make the playoffs. But I have zero confidence that they will get to 10-6.

It's very likely a 9-7 team will get a WC in the AFC, but I wouldnt'be surprised if some AFC 9-7 teams did not.

And we could put up 61 on the Pats easy. If people take a second to take a look past our own Steelers, you'll see that many of the defenses suck, NE ain't special, neither are the Rats. The strongest team in the AFC so far is Houston and they just lost Cushing. The only other team in the entire NFL that is playing any real defense is the 49ers.

We couldn't put up 30 against the Titans and you thin we can hang 61 on the Pats... easy????

Wow, the exaggeration was lost on you. I was throwing back a ridiculous number at him, see what I did there now? Unless you really think NE could hang 60 on us, you didn't seem to question that

I am sorry, I forgot we are supposed to be deriding the defense and coaching. Only playoff posts that say we have no chance of making it to them are acceptable after a loss. I guess I am a hopeless supportive Mendihall-type fan.

A sharp knife on a glass bottle is more like it. http://screen.yahoo.com/is-this-the-wor ... 59114.html

A 9-7 team won the superbowl last year, remember that. I would rather the injuries happen now and know we re not going to make it. Than to be healthy going into the last of the season and everybody get hurt. At least if the D gets healthy and pulls their head out of their asses, there is a chance. About a gizzllion to 1 but a chance.

At least if we re out I maybe able to get tickets the end of Dec cheap.
