I think the main reason they will be able to get him cheap is because I don't think he has committed enough good tape to make some other team overpay. Or to even pay at all.

I don't know DL is molding a defense in TN many thought Spence wasn't worth keeping and he looked good in the few games I saw this year. If given a chance JJ might take an offer from them.

I never was on the "blame Lebeau" train. I've said for years that we just don't have the talent to execute the scheme like we used to. I believe if you gave this current unit the whole 08 playbook they would still look just as scrubbish as they do now. It took the players to make it work and we had them then. We don't now. I really think that's the difference. If anybody thinks blitzing is passe in the modern NFL I would just refer them to this game today. You can still get after a qb if you want to.

I'd show them tape of the Vikings game this afternoon and what they did to a mobile QB and shutting down a high scoring offense. Zimmer just destroyed the Panthers.

We made Schwartz look like a genius today too. Our line just got dominated.

Yeah, I didn't see it. The d line he played aside of in college were the real stars of that team. Most sacks he got in college were due to them being so disruptive, or coverage sacks.

Yeah I wonder if he should play Haggans role on the left and move Dupree to the right, Dupree comes off the ball with elite speed.

If Dupree starts taking better angles to the qb he's gonna be a beast. Have you ever felt like he just gets in the backfield but winds up way behind the qb when it looks like he should have a clear sack?

We lost this game on the offensive and defensive line this game.

    DLine and OLine got handled.

We lost because almost our entire team and coaching staff stunk up the joint. I don't believe we're totally broken, however.

I predicted 4-3 at the bye and it looks like I'll be correct. Steelers will go 2-2 over the next four games. They will definitely lose vs. Patriots and I can see KC or NYJ beating the Steelers at Heinz. Meanwhile, the Ravens are winning the AFC North.

Overall.. the offense is overrated, big time. We all knew the defense was going to go through the motions, but to see the offense get shut down like that is disturbing.

Exactly this, when you get dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball this is the outcome you get. They got their butts kicked. They are better than they played, that's for sure.

I don't know if I would say the offense is "overrated". I think it might be worse than overrated. I think it might be inconsistent. The defense is honestly pretty much what I thought it would be and the burden was pretty much gonna be on the offense every week. Well if you look at how we played week one we had a terrible first quarter but then started playing. Then we come out and eek one out against Cincy. Then yesterday we never get off the bus. When we start playing better competition it's gonna take all 4 quarters being played consistently. We've certainly not shown that we can do that.

Fans and sports media was bragging on the offensive line after the 2-0 start. That OL performance yesterday was worse than the Philly game in '08... and that was the worst performance I could remember under Tomlin or Cowher. Foster may be out indefinitely, so that's not gonna help matters any. It's like Bill Parcells once said... "We're flying a burning plane." I don't think the Steelers have the personnel in place for a championship run. I hope they prove me wrong... but so far... the offense is overrated and the defense is no better than last year's with Antwon Blake at corner.

So, and I'm sorry to bring up fantasy FB, because I hate it (was coaxed into coming out of retirement, but will be one and done), but anyhow. I actually picked up Sproles last week, as I saw what Bernard and Hill did catching out of the backfield. Obviously, so did Philly as Sproles went off after doing nothing all year. 2 games, 250 yards passing to RB.

Didn't our coaches expect this, as this fantasy geek saw it coming?

Or why he is on the field. Tomlin: I feel he is playing solid, we can move him all over the field :lolol: Coach, it doesn't matter where you put the creampuff, he fails. At least they didn't give him the 5th year option. College tape doesn't guarantee success in the NFL. I have seen enough of this scrub...

I dont think everything can be blamed on players talent ,the eagles defense was ranked 30 last year but since they hired their new DC swartz, he took those same players and made them into a top 5 D , coaching is 70% of a players development, you have to put them into the best situation to win before they can showcase their potential....

Well if our O wants to win they need to trade Wheaton or bench him...He had multiple drops, he ran some very poor routes and he didn't make 1 good block that I could see ...Haley needs to attack more , if a Team is going to load the box and press then we need to get our speed on the outside and attack deep....

The entire defense gave up the moment #50 took himself out of the game. Bottom line is our defense will crack not crumble by the willingness #50 has to "galvanize the troops." Steelers fans across the country should have noticed the lack of intensity effort and overall willingness to get the job done when Shazier left the game. Im calling him out because its what a fan base should do. He's a great player, he has the ability to be the best at the position in the NFL hands down...but the injuries and lack of play from a bump or bruise is concerning, hes our leader on the defense and when hes not on the feild we...simply put suck ass...come on Shazier SteelerNation needs you!!!

Come on preacher. Have a little faith. You know things are never as bad or good as they seem.
They will come out this week and look more like the team that beat the Bengals than the one that got their back sides handed to them yesterday. If not, I'll maybe join you because I'm doubling up on my weekly bet ant taking the Steelers to win and giving KC the points. I'm glad I just bet the under on Sundays game. I feel really good about this game against the Chiefs.

Our coaches can't see the end of their noses, obviously.
For years now, watching the games as a layperson, I can see things that I assume coaches can see easily (playing 10 yards off the receiver on 3rd and 5 is the biggest one), yet they don't.
    Obviously.

I feel like there was a lot of bad calls against the Steelers yesterday as well... How many times did the refs throw some **** flag to give them a free first down.

The running into the kicker call should have also been roughing. I just saw the saints get the call and the kicker barely got touched.

Anyways, no discredit to the Eagles, but they honestly had every little thing go there way all game long and if they played eachother again I think it'd be different.

Dropped passes, bad calls, injuries, bad throws... It was a BAD day.
