I got to the quote from George Pickens and read enough. He said he clueless in a sense. That will probably sum up his entire career and overall life experience. Whoever suggested drafting that clown should be fired if he hasn’t already been.

Just so it's clear, there is a writeup like this for every team each season. They aren't picking on the Steelers. It's parody.

I understand but George Pickens is still a selfish clown.

They suck because Omar Khan sucks, and Tomlin has outstayed his time there.

Coaching is more of a problem than the front office. Steelers have plenty of talent... it's not the Front Office's job to develop that talent.

It IS the front office's job to KEEP the talent, why shop George Pickens AFTER the draft with no real WR2?

Steelers team leadership has no fire in their bellies to be champions. That's why they suck. The Steelers will never be legitimate contenders until Tomlin & Co. are shown the door.

We have not watched a lick of real football yet, and yet many are convinced we have no numbers 2 wrs. Can you imagine if young wrs were never allowed to grow, and you just keep rehashing the same named Wrs year after year. I heard this when we lost Plaxico, we have no wrs left, when we lost Wallace, we have no Wrs left, and on, and on, and yet we find more, and I'm not even going back that far in the example.

I get it, I really do. However, the season hasn’t even started yet and your writing us off. I say this with respect. What’s the point of spending time on message boards or watching the games if you’re so certain we’re already and always doomed ?

Tomlin and co are indeed issues. I’ll grant you that. However, it’s a new season and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Point being, why not stay with optimism for now until it’s actually time for pessimism again.

Such a fair and valid point. I’ve always been enamored with Pickens talent yet at the same time wanted him gone because of his cancerous behavior. That being said, I was worried when we finally parted ways with him without having a real WR2 backup plan so I’ve been guilty of this mindset myself.

Your so right though. We need to be patient as our WR core is developing. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with what I’ve seen in the preseason regarding the different possibilities for that #2 role. Not to mention we’ve got speed there.

We’ve got a solid #1 WR and some really good TE’s that could also take some of the burden from whoever ultimately becomes are WR #2.

There is no easy quick way to get a franchise QB.
either suck and get a top 10 draft pick or
Trade 3 number ones to get a top 10 draft pick.
We’re just going to have to cycle thru arms for years until we find one.
    This may take 10 years.
Unless you get lucky like the ravens did with Lamar.

Brady was a 6th round draft pick. Surprised how many people have already written off Will Howard.

I hate it too. I've seen the same thing year after year for a decade......utter mismangement of the team and the continual decline of the Steelers' reputation. I have zero confidence anything will change until Rooney cleans house. I post the truth as I see it and others are free to disagree with me.

There is also no guarantees that works. Plenty of teams trading multiple 2nds and next years firsts only to get a bust and REALLY set themselves back.
Good scouting, trusting your eyes on the tape in college (and trying to ignore measurables to some degree), and a well-known coach of young QBs is the ticket.
Better to NOT mortgage the rest of your team unless you just KNOW a kid is going to be the real deal already.

Also, do NOT fall for the one-year wonder types at 22 or 23 in college. If they were mediocre or invisible for 3 or 4 years and suddenly put up stats as an old man in college, PASS. The ONLY way they get a look is if they had an all-world QB starting in front of them for 3 or 4 years (that doesn't happen these days with players going pro early). Kenny Pickett lighting up college as a collegiate veteran was a red-flag. The Breakout AGE metric appears to have REAL validity and should be one of the top measurables for the front office. If you are studly at 18, then you're probably the real deal, if you can't figure out 18/19/20 years olds until your 22 or 23, you probably aren't the real deal.

Oh, and ANY QB still needs to have at least as good or better passing skills than running skills. We see all sorts of QBs that can run, amaze in college with a few bombs and running TDs galore, but aren't really QBs. They will likely NEVER become good enough passers. Milroe, Fields, Richardson, and every year, one QB or two just like them, come out and prove completing 50% of passes is very difficult if you can put touch on the ball, throw with early timing or read the defense at all.
