His off-field history would absolutely be relevant now the way the league due to the personal conduct policy.

I was agreeing with you, by the way, that bringing up Harrison was worth considering in the discussion of Garrett.

Unless you count the time he hit the mother of his child with a phone.

I'm comparing Harrison to what Garrett did on the field, with the exception of the helmet incident. I'm just saying that yes Garrett has had other issues, but they've always been part of the game, in the same way that Harrison had issues on the field.

That's the point I was originally making. Most NFL players are low-life citizens and do that kind of stuff, it's what the NFL has become. But attacking someone with a weapon "ON THE FIELD" is a very different story which can't be bought or swept under the carpet.

No one seems to be mentioning (and probably for good reasons) that there were added special circumstances when MG pulled the dreaded "race card" at his appeals hearing. The difference, this wasn't an act in the heat of the moment, it was carefully planned by MG and his legal team (most likely). MR does, in turn, have a slander case against MG, unless it also appeared in his written appeals statement in which case he would also have a libel case against MG. I'd think that the penalty/disincentive for this action should be on top of the on field antics. Not sure though, even combined, they warrant a life suspension. I don't like the "indefinite" ruling unless that is a legal term used in the PA with the NFL.

UPDATE: Now MG is saying that he told "the Browns" right away about the racial slur part and yet no one has really come to his defense other than players saying he wouldn't lie about something like that. Don't you think this would have been revealed when the NFL investigated this part but instead came away saying there is no evidence it is true. He also said the reason he kept silent to the press about it is because he thought "it would be bad for the NFL" to reveal this little secret. All I can say is "You smell Slider!"

I thought he slapped a phone out of her hand. Regardless the story didn't get near enough attention in the local media and it was forgotten (and apparently forgiven) way too easily.

I think Garrett is a p.o.s. who has had several questionable plays already but I still don't think his career deserves a death sentence for trying to brain Rudolph.

Probably true when you look at it as one incident but I guess my point was that the street thugs need to be taught a lesson and if MG is a scapegoat, I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I wouldn't have lost any sleep if it was a Steeler who did this. Some how, some way, it has to stop.

    But it probably won't:huh:

She tried to hide behind a locked door. He knocked it down, picked up a phone and hit her with it. It went away because she refused to press charges.

I agree. It was way too easily forgotten and forgiven.

I guess IMO if they let people who violate the NFL's domestic abuse policy play after a suspension they cant hardly kick him out for good. However, It does make me sick to see people like Hunt, Hill and Peterson still making bank in the NFL.

I think if the NFL didn't use their mega power and mega billions to cover it up we would see 100 more like them. Ray Lewis committed murder for God's sake and become a darling of the NFL.

To be fair, it's not as if Lewis was actually accused of doing the killing. I honestly don't remember the story that well, but I believe he was part of the group involved in the fight that left two people dead and they all left in his limo.

His bs racial defense shows me that he hasn't learned anything yet. He isn't even remorseful for the way he acted. Might take years for him to change if it happens at all.

Wasn't he the idiot that was making threatening remarks to Ben before last season started? That guy? He's a POS> Lance him out of the league and start setting/ raising the standard that is in the toilet compared to earlier times.

Garrett is a dirty player, Always hitting late. Harrison didn't hit you late just tried to hurt you with a legal tackle.
