He isn't, but the Rudolph fans have this fantasy of him taking the job and becoming a stud for the Titans.

The running game worked just fine tonight once Wilson started hitting. The Jets had to respect the pass and it opened up room for Harris and Warren. This is the offense the Steelers envisioned going into this season. Now let's see if they can keep it going.

He started out hot today and they were up 10-0 but he melted down in the second half going 7-17 and an interception and they got blown out 32-10.

Wilson is doing three things much better than Fields. He is seeing open receivers more consistently. He can throw touch passes, where he did most of his damage tonight. He also works well in play-action.

i still think he’s a good backup. But what backup is going to lead an inferior titans team to a win over a playoff team like the bills?

Steeler Fans: Did you do it?

    Tomlin: Yes…

Steeler Fans: What did it change?

This is exactly what we had hoped for from Russ before the season. A veteran who can read the defence, anticipate and actually make the throws when they are there. He isn’t an All Pro level player any more and he may not be as good as he was in the second half last night all the time but with this defence he may not need to be. A professional and capable QB will do fine.

The Steelers are 5-2 and the the AFC field looks beatable. Hopefully Omar will go get him a WR2 before the window closes.

i'm glad we have all 3 of these guys. much better options than last year. too bad it's a one year deal at this point. time will tell. the offense looked pretty good with russell. nicer flow. i think there is still time for both to-do some damage to teams during the season. i hope russell holds in there, injury wise. reading defenses is fundamental. :smiley1::cool:

Important thing is they won but I knew people would be trying to act like Russ played great. This gem here plus multiple under thrown passes that were bailed out by circus catches plus over threw Muth who made a great catch.

The biggest change was Wilson was much more successful with play action than Fields was but again, the WR’s were making great catches for Wilson.

They also allowed him to be much more aggressive in the second half. When they were down against the Colts, Fields did the same thing, threw for over 300 yards that game I believe. Only the defense shut down the Jets and laid down for the Colts.

Fools gold. He hasn’t played a game in a year so some of that was rust but the tape doesn’t lie, Wilson isn’t going to be some savior.

Wilson had a few passes like that early on knocking off the rust, I doubt an ESPN employee would use the F-word in a tweet like that ;).

That series nearly got Russ benched. I saw the look Tomlin had for a very short distance. That whole series was a series of inexplicable passes.
"Touch Passes" - that's something you need to consider. Like the pass to Pat, he looped it right out in front but with touch so that he stood a chance catching it. It was just a hair overthrown, but that's the rust.

I don't like any of our QB's, that's for sure.
And now I am even more sure that out of the 2 that have started.. Russell is the one to keep because his career is in rearview mirror.
That's what you want if you go after a QB in the draft.
    * Provided he plays the same level or above the rest of the season.
    Fileds is not our Franchise.

In hindsight this looks like exactly what I saw last night. Go balls down the sideline and nothing in the middle of the field. If Smith is ok with that I guess it's fine, but he's still limited just like this analysis shows.

I know your hurting. We watched a real Field General operate this Offense. Not perfect but i'm sorry Fields cannot do what Wilson brings to the table except young legs. Wilson can scan the field, read the defense before the snap and make the proper adjustments. Fields cannot. He also can spread the ball around. I wanted to see the passing game take off and it did.

I wonder if Fields can improve. He has had several years to work on his shortcomings. And they are still present. To me he is not the future.

I couldn't wait to see Wilson get healthy and start. And he didn't disappoint...
