Why does Vegas think we are going to be last in division? 7.5 win line wow

You can get 7.5 wins on Fanduel. Wow the boyz in the desert think we are going to stink. Dont get it. We were really bad at QB for 3/4 s of the season until end.

 

Steelers have 3rd hardest NFL schedule but ravens and browns are ahead of them.

I think bettors thinks our QB situation stinks and we are thin at WR.

Lamar Jackson, Burrow, and Deshaun Watson they feel are better.

I think Steelers have the 10 to 11 win area possible this year. If we get good QB play from Wilson or Fields and we avoid disaster of bad injuries.

 

7.5 wins = total coaching overhaul.

 

Completely new qb room, new offensive line, new offensive coordinator, 1 wide receiver, aging defensive line, no slot corner…

 

That is the thinking, though I'm not sure how they don't realize the OC and offensive line changes are upgrades.

 

That’s not exactly hard to figure out. While Smiths offense was solid if not great in Tennessee the same can’t be said about his time with Atlanta. As for the offensive line they haven’t actually done anything yet. While I don’t expect it to happen it’s entirely possible our new center and rt tackle aren’t ready.

 

The first 3 things are good thing for the steelers

 

No surprise. We still have Tomlin as coach and a tough schedule. Tomlin’s team have underperformed for last decade.

 

Maybe, maybe not. As it stands we don’t know what we’ve got. They might succeed or they might fall flat on their face. Only time will tell. As always I will remain cautiously optimistic while y'all proclaim success before training camp has even started.

 

Only one way to prove Vegas wrong.

All I got to say is.....when in the last 3 years haven't we been picked to be last , or next to last in our division, or picked to have a losing record????
I've won money off of this 4 years straight.

I prefer the unknown that having Mason Cole, Kenny and Canada back...Almost every team have new coaches or players every year

 

Every tough team on our schedule is like us; one injury away from a dismal year. Just ask the Jets or the Vikings

well, yes - but that is true for every team in the NFL

If you think the Bills or Chiefs compete without their QB's, think again.

 

Coin is still in the air, way to soon to call it . When the pads go on and real hitting starts we will have a good idea of what we have , untill then 16-1 is as accurate as 7-10 or any other guess.

 

Well, we have a better starting QB (both players were better than Pickett last season and for the past few years of their careers), we largely have the same defense with an upgrade in Queen with only a couple new starters (Jackson, Elliot), we have a new (proven) OC that will be an upgrade over Canada... IDK. I think on paper (which is how this is being estimated anyways) we should be a better team than last season. The only question marks are on offense and our offense was trash last season... New OL, QB, and OC is definitely a question mark, but our OL wasn't great last season and our QB and OC were the worst in the league at their respective positions. I would put an over under at 9.5. I think we SHOULD be over, but injuries and luck can change things. I think we are being undervalued in Vegas. Which is fine of course, we've been undervalued there for the past couple of seasons.

As for the schedule, we wont know until the season starts. Teams over/under perform all the time and injuries can change teams' outlooks in an instant (see the Jets last season losing Rodgers on opening night). I think we had the one of the "worst" rated schedules last year pre-season, but only played 4 sub .500 teams (Titans, Raiders, Cardinals, Pats... and found a way to lose half of those games, yay Tomlin), while the rest of our games were against teams that were either playoff teams or contending for playoff position up until the last week or two of the season. We ended up with the 4th hardest schedule in the league. Hard to gauge things like that.

As always, it will come down to winning games in your division and winning close games. Parity of the NFL.

 

Thats fine, when we’re favored to win the division and contend we tend to not meet expectations (see the previous decade). So being expected to finish poorly is fine with me. Maybe this will light a fire under Tomlin and the young players

QB Room - Upgraded from Pickett, Tribusky, and Rudolph

OLine - Upgraded from Cole, Okorafor, and Moore Jr (granted Chuks got benched mid season)

Coordinator - Canada is gone….enough said

DLine - While aging, I don’t think it’s any worse than last year.

Corner and WR - this one does give me pause, but time will tell what happens.
