I've seen every Star Trek series known to mankind. Watch: Deep Space Nine...one of the most underrated TV shows of all time, IMO.... and lesser known of Star Trek series. Excellent from start to finish.

Enterprise was also very underrated and it's a shame that series started in 2001 before streaming..... because it was cancelled way too soon with rushed ending. If Paramount + was around back then.... there would have been 7+ seasons... like TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

I know people hate the ending of Enterprise. I've seen it and I probably would have hated it, too, if I had watched the whole series. Deep Space Nine is one of my favorite television shows ever in any genre. It was well written and acted, with a more realistic feel than many of the other Star Trek shows. I could have done without most of the Ferengi-focused episodes, but that is a minor quibble. The documentary they made about the series a few years back was excellent. I love the little insights, such as the real bond between Avery Brooks made with Cirric Lofton, which showed in their portrayals of a father and son in the series.

I didn't watch DS9 until mid 00's decade....about 20 years ago, long after it had ended it's run. I had DVR back then with my cable TV package and DVR'ed every season/episode on whatever channel it was on at the time. DS9, Six Feet Under and Firefly reruns were amazing to me at the time. I was a harcore TNG/Voyager fan.... and I ended up liking DS9 even more than those.

Mid 00's is when TV shows in general started to get really damn good..... Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, House, Breaking Bad... and then Game of Thrones blew up a few years later.

In the 90's, I only watched Star Trek TNG & Voyager, Babylon 5 and X-Files. Those were the only shows that could hold my interest. Farscape and Lexx were decent, too on Syfy.

    Another  for DS9.
One of my favorite series, of any genre.
The writers (under the leadership of Piller and Behr) had an obvious love for the franchise. They respected the history without being constrained by it, tried to build on it to reward fans without confusing new watchers, and blended interesting characters (especially the re-occuring side characters) with actors who relished the parts.

Don't forget Ron Moore, who was a writer and producer on DS9. He was also a big part of TNG finding its legs and later one of the creators of Battlestar Galactica.

If pressed to give a favorite writer in that staff, I would pick Moore. The best Klingon episodes were him as the lead writer, plus stuff like "Tapestry" from TNG. But all of them had outstanding episodes. Guessing that having other brilliant writers to bounce ideas off of helped all of them.

It’s funny, never was really able to get into any of the Star Treks past the original series and movies. Not even the immediate follow up with Picard.

But the original ones, loved it.

I Love Star Trek, and Enterprise is the only one I haven't watched, but I'm fixing that. LoL I have the 1st 9 episodes on DVR so far, and a added one every night. I will watch them as soon as I finish the Highlander series. I didn't even know there was a Star Trek: Enterprise series until someone was talking about it.

Some people don't like the Science Fiction genre. I know several people like this. Not a big deal.

Did you watch Battlestar Galactica? I don't mean the original series, but the remake. If you like Moore's writing, it should appeal to you. Despite the sci-fi premise, it was very grounded. I know people who served in the military who said that show expertly captured the culture.

I watched BG after it came out on DVD (didn't have cable / Sci-Fi network at the time).
I don't like it as much as others do. I recognize how good it is, but a little too mystical / post-apocalyptic / bleak for my taste.
(I do like they hired Zoic for the special effects. Some of the stuff they did for Firefly was groundbreaking for regular network TV, and they did great work on BG.)

I've also caught half of For All Mankind. Clever premise, very good writing/acting, but again doesn't rise above "like" for me.

Some day I want to try Outlander. Probably too romance-heavy for my taste, but I've heard good things about it.

I get that. I loved the show, but I haven't rewatched all of it even once; I have only selected episodes. Much of it is bleak, and I can see the mystical aspects frustrating some people.

On the plus side, they managed to make a mockery of the FCC by simply replacing **** with frak.

Speaking of side characters, there is also a timely element to DS9. Morn, the barfly who appeared in most scenes in Quarks, was a nod to Norm on Cheers. RIP George Wendt. Of course, the characters are very different. Both were big men who were constantly at the bar. Both had parts of them that were referenced but never shown. Norm often spoke about his wife, but her face was never shown. When she did appear, either we saw other parts of her or her face was somehow covered. On DS9, characters often referenced Morn talking their ears off, but he never uttered a word on screen.

The show based on the historical fantasy (romance) novels, that was developed for TV by Moore.

But now I should look up that movie.
The synopsis sounds bonkers, but it has a decent rating, and it has a better cast than I would have expected (Jim Cavielzel, Sophia Myles, Ron Perman, John Hurt).

I know fans of Outlander. I didn't realize Moore was involved in it. I may have to check it out.

My sister-in-law loves it. She told us about one particular scene, an assault on a male character, that is very difficult to watch.
