Injuries are knocking good contending teams out of the playoff picture each week. It happens every year but now that teams are separating and "the cream is coming to the top" injuries are killing possible contenders...Bears and Houston were rolling...now have no realistic chance of moving on very far. Manning was 1st...now all the first string qb's out is killing teams.... I know it is part of the game and always is...Johnson,Forte,Manning,etc. are game/season changers....one never knows if a guy like Rice can go down...The Steelers have had their share of injuries....can happen to the Ravens also.

I'm not hoping for ON THE FIELD INJURIES because I'm not that type of fan but I hope while Ray Lewis is at home he accidently falls down a flight of stairs and break a leg or two. I hope Joy Wacko Flacco accidently breaks his throwing arm while putting up Christmas lights and slipping of a latter. I hope Ed Reed, while at home twist his ankles as he’s practicing some dance moves with hopes of making it on dancing with the stars during the off season. Again, I would never hope for ON THE FIELD INJURIES, I’m not that type of fan.

I don't wish injuries on other teams players but going off of what he posted I thought it was apparent he was joking

Ray Rice is the only player the Ravens can't afford to lose.
They can even play without Flacco, Ed Reed & Ray Lewis.

Steelyourpoints, I'm glad that you can see that I was clearly joking BUT..... if Reeds actually breaks his ankles while praticing some dance moves :D .......I'll go on record by saying I will pay for DKBLUE along with one companion, a plane ticket to any Steeler game of his choice.

Flacco's not great but that team is dead in the water without him. Name me a team who's playoff aspirations aren't shot for that matter after losing it's starting QB.

Who's next to go down? That's easy. Here they are in order:

    1. Cleveland
    2. San Fran
    3. St. Louis
    4. Cleveland again

Hopefully nobody. I don't want any excuses as to why they didn't make it, or for when we end their postseason. While there may be an exception here and there, I'll agree that most teams can't keep the wheels moving when the star QB goes down.

Texans, Broncos (they are on their 2nd QB, actually) and Raiders aren't starting the guy who was under the center week 1.
Also, 49ers could have lost Smith a couple weeks ago and still have had a decent chance.
I agree that losing Flacco will hurt them. Any team would be hurt with losing their QB. But right now, they rely much more on what Rice can do than on Flacco's passing abilities IMO.

Wouldn't count on it. And I'm not talking about just reaching the playoffs, I mean successfully navigating the playoffs all the way through. Plus, I'm talking about teams making it with their backups, not someone they go out and sign. Not that it will matter much, Delhomme or Yates, Texans are sunk.

None of those teams are going any where. And Denver or the Raiders will be awarded a playoff spot by virtue of a crappy division, someone has to win it. Plus Raiders went out and signed a QB, he wasn't on the roster to start the season. Palmers situation was unique, they got lucky. Texans went out and signed Delhomme, otherwise they were depending on Yates. When you lose your starting QB your season is over. The Giants did it with Hostetler after Simms went down but it's rare, not to mention the Giants had an awesome defense.

Tyrod Taylor I believe. At least, he was in preseason. He's a young/mobile QB. Some of the Ravens were talking like he was the future of the team.

I don't think Houston could have gotten too far in the playoffs with their starting QB. Not a bad team and I am actually happy for them this year that they have finally put together a winning season and will take their division, but I never saw them as a post season threat to win the AFC.
    -Just sayin...
