Well, he didn't have much trouble for the first 2 1/2 years of his career. This very year, he had 800 yards in 8 games. I know you're talking about the second half, where he was less productive and had some drops, but my point is people are talking like he's not good or not great anymore. Like he's a different guy. Based on a few games. I'm not a huge stat guy because they can be misleading a lot of times, but sometimes I think they get it right. Wallace started out on fire, he drew more and more attention from teams, and right around that time Antonio Brown caught fire. Check out the "splits by month."

In the first 8 games, 6 catches over 40 yards and 11 over 20. Brown had only 3 over 20 in that time and 0 over 40. Then over games 9, 10, and 11, Brown has 8 over 20. I do not believe this is a coincidence, or that Wallace magically became bad while Brown magically became good. Teams were determined not to let Wallace beat them deep, and they sacrificed coverage on the other receivers. And even so, there was at least one play per game when he got behind double coverage for a bomb, and received a poorly thrown ball.

Also, as for his fighting for the ball, he's not as good as Brown, who does everything hungry. I don't think he's terrible at it. He's not great either and has room to improve, especially for high ones, but he's shown good ball skills over his career. I've seen him fight guys for it. And we all want him to adjust well, but we have to be reasonable too. When he's wide open, we have to expect our QB to put it on the money.

Cruz is very good, but I have seen him drop some easy passes early in the season.

I saw on this board alot of complaining about Wallace not going and getting a ball. On several of them, there was really no way he could have -- for example the INT in the SF game. That was a terrible decision by Ben and the INT happened way in front of Wallace whos momentum was going across the back of the endzone. HE was not enen close to being in any position to break up that INT. On a few others, if you see a diffeerent angle you can see the pass was way off, but on the TV angle it looked closer than it was. When you are going full speed at Wallace pace, you can't simply go in another direction 6 yards the opposite way in an instant.

Ben does not throw the bomb with the accuracy of some quarterbacks. He launches it in the general direction and Wallace has not yet mastered the fight for the ball.
