I'm referring to the specific elbow injury that required surgery to repair, when the 3 tendons tore off the bone.
Ben has probably dealt with pain ever since his first NFL start, this is different.

I would like to see the Steelers trade a third round pick to Miami for Josh Rosen. He has had the crappy luck to be on not one but two very bad teams.
I was surprised to see that he is nearly two years younger than Mason Rudolph, and some months younger than the Duck.

I know that this can’t happen for economic reasons but there could be quite a high side to him. It would be worth the shot, third round draft picks make NFL rosters at about the same probability as UDFAs.

Rosen would not be cap prohibitive for 2020. His base salary is 750k, and Miami has already paid his roster bonus. Rudolph has a base salary of over 800k, and a dead cap number of under 500k if cut. Where the economics come more into play is 2021 where Rosen has a 2.13 million roster bonus. I am not sure I’d trade a 3rd for him though. His arm talent and accuracy are very good. However, I’m not sure he has what it takes to make it as an NFL QB emotionally (at least not yet).

You are probably right about not trading a third for him. The top three, you expect to start, so in turn you’d expect to get a starter for a third. A fourth, I’d do it in a heartbeat. The reason I would want him is that the things that are wrong are things that can perhaps be fixed, and the things that are good are the things you can’t teach.

In the message board mock draft I drafted for the Packers, and I traded pick 136 to Miami for Rosen and pick 185. That places about a 4th-5th round value on Rosen, which I think is worth the risk.

    Good post!

I don't see Ben as unreliable, he dealt with a bad elbow for a while and it finally gave out on him. I honestly see him as one of the most reliable on the team because it is 100% guaranteed that he will give all he has to win.....and he will motivate the others to do the same.

As far as MR, I think everyone knows my position on him. I just don't think he has the right fundamentals and three years into the NFL is too late to change those. It's unfortunate that the Steelers didn't give him the help he needed from day one because he had a lot of potential.

Watch out for what, INT.???????? Ben once said I like airing out a few a game and hope for the best.

Better way to say it: If we have wide receivers who can do some Lynn Swann type stuff, watch out.

I once had a video of Swanny's greatest catches. Bradshaw got the credit for the yardage but if not for the ridiculous ability of Swann they would have been INT's or incomplete passes.

NFL.com seems to think that Lynch lost the camp battle to Duck and that he will be cut on cut down day. So they are rolling with Mason and Duck again behind Ben.

Bradshaw once said he learned if you throw the ball to a John Stallworth, it will not be intercepted.

When I was watching this scene for the thirst time, I was not expecting them to show it, I thought it would be one of those implied things. That visual still haunts me.

Please provide link to proof? What a load of B.S.

Rosen will be available for free next year, as they will not pay him his roster bonus.

Roll with Mason this year as he knows the playbook. I say they keep all 4 QBs this year, letting both Duck and Paxton run the scout team. I think having no Preseason this year hurt Paxton's chances of moving up on the depth chart. He had no opportunities to showcase his mobility or arm strength without playing with the full field.

You messed up your quote, Elvis didn’t say that. I can’t see that claim being true though. Bet 3rd rounders make rosters much more often then UDFA’s.

I didn’t say that. Go back and check on what you tried to quote, because you somehow attributed someone else’s statement to me. Of course 3rd rounders and UDFAs don’t have the same probability of making an NFL roster. There may be as many (or more) UDFAs in the league than 3rd rounders, but that’s only because there are about 10x the number of UDFAs than 3rd round selections that go to camps every year.

    My bad on the misquote.

I too wanted the Steelers to make a move on Rosen after the draft. Right now he offers no value for the 2020 Steelers, and I think he will bee a free agent at the end of this year, so why give up a 3rd?

I think the lack of pre-season hurts Duck. Our back ups this year are going to be Mason and Lynch.
