Not sure. MT is still under contract so we know that means he's the HC through at least the 2027 season. There will be so many different names on any HC search list in 2028 than there are today. As many have pointed out over the years, Noll, Cowher, and Tomlin were all relatively unknown when they were hired.

Are we choosing from current NFL HCs? I'll stay with Tomlin.

Dan Campbell. Doubt that he's available. Since we're playing "fantasy" here, I'll take Bill Walsh!

This is a no-brainer...Jesse Minter. He's young, aggressive, he won't take sh!t, he's smart, he's well connected to the game, and he will win Championships. He's there for the taking after Mike Dumblin steps down (or is forced down) at the end of the Wild Card Round...if Dumblin cares about this team, this city, & this fanbase like he claims, he'll step down. He needs a new start, and most important, so do the Steelers, IMHO.

I want Deion Sanders. Just kidding. I'd like to see a young hungry guy who first NFL HC job is with us. Now that would be fresh blood. Can't see the Steelers ever doing that.

The thing with Ben Johnson is that he won’t be bringing the Lions Offensive Line and running back room with him. Detroit has built a powerhouse in terms of offensive personnel and it is a massive factor in his success.

If MT was to leave in the offseason I think Johnson would be my choice however. He has shown that he can put an excellent offence together when he has the pieces.

Ask me in 2032 after Tomlin has officially announced his retirement.

I was thinking fresh out of NCAA Coaching ranks. Cowher and Tomlin served as Coaches on other teams. Not sure what Noll did before Steelers.

I was joking, but then again not really. Tomlin is under contract until 2027. If he wants to keep coaching, the Steelers will extend him again. He could very well end up being the NFL's version of Joe Paterno and coach the Steelers into his 80's. Think of all the winning seasons.

Why would Ben Johnson want to come to the Steelers with their current QB situation?

Noll was an assistant under Shula with the Colts.

We are talking hypotheticals here. He will have his pick of HC jobs and most jobs will be open for a reason. There are very few HC jobs where you walk in and everything is already set for success

Gotcha. My point is, the guy has already HIJACKED this organization...he's made NON-LOSING seasons acceptable, and they're used as COLLATERAL against Championships. He's changed the Corporate Mission Statement of the Steelers from winning SUPER BOWLS to IT'S OK TO LOSE. He's changed the Steelers into being just like the 31 other teams in the NFL. He's can't (or won't) develop players, develop his coaches, or develop a dynasty in any way, shape, or form. He's set this organization back 60 years. He's failed an entire generation of fans, and he's lowered their expectations. He's single-handedly set the Rooney Rule back to its infancy, all because he won't adjust to the game, and better the status of minority coaches.

The indictments against Dumlin are piling up...it's sort of like a leaking dam. As a person, he might be some classy dude and he's "cool", but as an NFL Head Football coach...he's as AVERAGE as they come. Yes, that's good enough for some teams, but not the Pittsburgh Steelers. We need a new head coach...NOW!

His quiet personality is like Noll. Steelers need an offensive mind in the 21st century. He would run a no nonsense team and he would help Khan find the best DC possible. Enough of the rah rah popcorn cliches and bullsh!t.

Whoever takes over there will be a couple years of before we are contending. The cupboard is bare w/o a franchise QB, no WR depth, shaky O-Line, an aging defensive front 7 and a patchwork DB corp.

It doesn’t happen often though. If the new coach is lucky the QB will be there, like Harbaugh with Herbert, or MT with Ben

There is usually a bit of rebuilding to do
