Never said he could, are you saying the Rooney's pick and choose who they keep and who they don't by their play? Also we do have a WR still on this team after a suspension , yes but did we get rid of Bell after his 1st suspension? We can go back and forth all day but all I am saying is yeah other teams are interested in Bell I don't think based on the Steelers past history we would. Name the last player we signed with multiple suspensions...............Heck come to think about it have we signed a guy with one suspension in FA? I know we drafted a few as of late that have had some issues but I don't remember signing a guy with a history, it's not the "Steeler Way" Right?

IIRC, Williams hadn't yet started having policy violations when he was traded by NO to MIA. :dontknow:

I think the "Steelers Way" is ... evolving. Look at Roethlisberger with the numerous off-field scandals (including a suspension), Bell (suspended twice and arrested for DUI/possession [?], Bryant, ... This organization doesn't follow an absolute little- or no-tolerance policy; they factor in what the player brings to the table.

I agree the "Steeler Way" is changing a whole lot it has to be there is no way a team could succeed today with the old way thinking. It is a much different world today...............

AB. Won't have too worry about any drug test. We will find a QB to get him his 100 receptions.

Eli just doesn't put in the time and pay enough attention to detail...His QB and his OC both say this...I was going strictly on his College tape and based on that he did win the starting slot role also confirmed by his QB and his OC...KC and company get to interview these guys and their peers and their coaches they should be able to get a great feel as to their make up...So yes we should hit at least 50% in the 1st. 2 rounds ......

Not to start an argument but didn't we sign Vick? I would say he had some off the field issues before coming to us, and he brought a lot of controversy with him when he came.

To be fair we did but that was after he was back in the league with 2 other teams and was a model citizen. That is a good point about Vick, but I feel like it was a different kind of a deal, plus we aren't talking big money like Bell will be getting.

He was smoking pot when he was in NO, and he said this which I guess made him a dumb ass(ONLY DUMB-ASSES FAILED THE LEAGUE’S ONCE-A-YEAR DRUG TESTS, WILLIAMS JOKED—THEN HE FAILED ONE IN MAY 2002.) He also said this about Bryant(Williams watches players like Martavis Bryant and Josh Gordon flunk test after test, and he wonders if they feel the same ambivalence toward football that he once felt.) Williams quotes, from SI.....

Definitely close in talent. If I had to choose, it would be Brown.

No...Not sure why you insist on splitting hairs ...His OC said he won the starting slot WR job, not sure what else can be said..

You said he'd start every game this season barring injury.
He hasn't. That's not splitting hairs. You simply were wrong.

My last post on this...He has been the main guy in the slot when healthy that is the starter in my view....His OC says the same thing...When we go to the slot formation Eli is our guy ......

You can twist it around all you want, but you're still wrong. What about getting your asses kicked by Washington? And your view was at a loss? You made the out rages prediction you're wrong be a man about it.

Hmm.. that was early in the week if you look at the predict the score I think I placed that week ? After watching more film I changed my mind about that game...The Steelers made some timely plays , but they didn't exactly stop Cousins he still passed for over 300 yards...

ok ,but i did place that week...wrong in your eyes on Eli, not in mine....I didn't miss on his tape I stated he looked like our best option and his OC and his QB agree, I will take that ....

I'm not talking about all that stuff you may be right you may be wrong who knows. What I'm talking about specifically is your claim that he would start all 16 games and maybe more barring injury. He didn't you were wrong end of story.

An article said that we are set to have a historic amount of cap space after this year. We could lock up AB and Bell. If we don't sign both of them, then we made a stupid mistake. Bell's playing style only comes in the draft every once in awhile. For Brown and Bell, it's like choosing between Dez Bryant and Calvin Johnson (if he was still playing) and Adrian Peterson or Ezekiel Elliott.

My point is that when we release our star players, that player may have some hard feelings for us even though that "it's just business". He will sign with a another team and then he'll get back at us by winning a Super Bowl with that team and rubbing it in our faces. He will be happy because he won the trophy, but Pittsburgh would have to deal with losing a player like him. If we have money issues, then we'll just franchise tag Bell since Brown still has one year left on his contract.

I'd also pick another cornerback in the draft. This year's class is full of good DB's. In the 2017 draft, 10 out of the 23 total cornerbacks that are listed on https://walterfootball.com/index.php are graded as 1st-2nd rounders. We could easily get someone to help out Artie Burns and William Gay with coverage.

I guess our record of 6-5 makes us a little worried. But, we can't help it. We can only win and hope to get some help from other teams as well. We have to deal with New England while the NFC has to deal with Dallas and Seattle. We have to improve our total team performance. So far, the defense has been stepping up to the task by playing more aggressively.
