I know with the prestige and championships the first thing people would think are the Yankees. Honestly? I’d go with the Cardinals or Braves. For some reason the consistent playoff births and talent has made the Steelers so great.

Man....I haven't watched a baseball game in longer than I can remember. I don't think I could name even one Pittsburgh Pirate player.

I always say in my next life I'm a Cardinal fan. Good organization. I've finally got over my hate of the Braves which lasted since 1991. I rooted for them to win this season. Great choices for comparisons!!

Now if the Steelers were like the Pirates the Penguins would be all the Burgh has and their party seems to be coming to an end.

Agree. Braves have won 2 World Series in the past 30 years. Hardly comparable to the Steelers, IMO.

Steelers are comparable to the Red Sox.. *puke*..... hate the Red Sox and Yankees. Celtics are the only Boston team that don't make me vomit.

I never had anything against Boston until Tom Brady. Because of him I rooted against all Boston sport teams.

Celtics don't offend me as much, since Pittsburgh doesn't have an NBA team. I never understood why the NBA didn't expand to Pittsburgh. People in western PA, eastern OH, northern WV area... love college basketball.

Championships, playoff appearances, division titles, longevity of the managers/coaches?
    I’d say the Dodgers.

Well we did have an ABA team, the Pipers/Condors won the ABA Championship in 67 with the great Connie Hawkins and I went to a lot of the games. There was not a lot of us at the arena and the guards always let us go sit by the court. I thought they were giants.

What do you mean Pittsburgh doesn’t have a basketball team? You mean to tell me “The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh” wasn’t a true story?

The Steelers remind me of the early 1990s and mid 2010s Pirates. Happy to get into the playoffs but fall short of the big game(s).
