Who will be the Steelers starting QB in the 2026 season opener?

Slim pickings for sure very low expectations for next season.

 

How depressing to see that's the choices we have for next season. I didn't even vote because it doesn't even matter they all suck.

Flacco or Rodgers

 

That's a rough list.

 

It will be Aaron Rodgers.

According to @tompelissero, #Steelers HC Mike McCarthy is very intrigued by the UPSIDE in QB Will Howard.

 

God, this REALLY crystallizes the mismanagement of this roster.

Howard is also an unknown. From what I heard, McCarthy has an idea of what he has as far as QB.
I imagine some things will happen pretty quick come March 26. (21st with the tampering period)

Guys that would not surprise me:
Mac Jones - It would have to be a trade but I think McCarthy could work with him very well.
Malik Willis - This is don't want. I'm more of a conventional QB type.
Ty Simpson - I could see this.
Carson Beck - could fall to us.
Cooper Rush? McCarthy got a 4-1 streak out of him. Not a long term solution.

It's a very 'iffy' situation. March 26 should kind of tip the hand just a little.

 

No matter what our QB room will be the worst in the league next year. It will make the Saints QB's Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler look like Montana and Young.

 

Sign Rodgers, draft Allar in the 3rd. Let Howard and Allar battle of for QB1 in 2027.

Aaron Rogers is no GOAT. That is Tom Brady. After that we have Joe Montana. Below that Elway, Bradshaw, Marino, Fouts, Young, Staubach. Below that Rothlisberger, Rodgers, Favre, Mahomes etc.

 

I am still guessing Kirk Cousins, even after the McCarthy hiring.

After he gets released by the Falcons in March.
