I liked Kordell too. He doesn't get enough credit today for what he pioneered back then.
His confidence was shattered pretty easily, and Cowher didn't help that by having him looking over his shoulder constantly. Plus he just wasn't an accurate enough passer to be an every down QB (imo).
I still have his action figure.

Steelers will throw the ball every down, or we'll run the ball with one rb 30 times

Ridley will surprise some of you if he gets the chance. Just like Connors last year
he never got a chance to show what he can do.

Ridley should start because of experience. I like the body of work that he displayed last season

I think the 0-3 stat is not very important. No more important then 220 wins with a 14 point or more lead at half time. It really just demonstrated how trends, stats can be beaten.

With Ben driving the amount of carries down and throwing 50 to 60 times a game I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out with that robotic arm thing that gronk wears.

:lolol: like that's going to happen

it's hardly panic driven, as i said, its a tool. by the same thinking we should throw to AB on every play because he is the best WR in the league.

ben sits when the other team has the ball, does that disrupt his rhythm? nobody is saying its all about ben winning in oakland either, its about the team winning in oakland with ben at the helm. we are 0-3, it is time to try some different tactics. it's not knee jerk at all, it would be smart coaching to throw some different things at another team and every team we would play from now until the end of the season would have to plan for it. they would have to make extra adjustments for it. if we would have won the last two games and had our starting RB available this wouldn't be a concern but to be a good team you adjust. you use what is at your disposal.

I'd like see Steven Ridley come in not having really played in the last 2 seasons, come in and run all over the Patriots, that would be great.

Samuels took over #2.... he is next man up ...
And it couldn't come with a better matchup... the raiders defense stunk with kalil mack.. now without him, the worst offenses would produce...
Will we throw a lot... YES..
But the rookie will get every chance to produce with this favorable matchup

The way I see this game progressing:

We start out, keeping them honest, running with Samuels/Ridley for the first possession or two. If, by the 2nd possession we haven't shown tremendous amounts of yardage gained - Ben goes to the air for the rest of the day. Especially if we are down by 7+ by the end of the 1Q.

I see no evidence of this playing out any other way, even when we had a healthy JC in there. Ben likes to throw too much to let the running game be the primary focus.

How high is the running back position addressed in the draft? Free agency maybe?

I think you will see one drafted for sure. But I doubt high. Seems like a lot of backs getting taken in mid to late rounds turn out decent. Heck some are never even drafted at all. Denver looks like they got one in that Lindsey and that guy is an undrafted rookie this year.

We line up Casper and throw the ball every down. They won't see it coming.

Team seems to nvr have a balanced offense lately. It's either run heavy or get pass happy.
