    I'll put black pepper on almost anything savory. I'd put it on pancakes and dessert, but I'm pretty sure the nice young men in their clean white coats would take me away if I did that.

    Yes. Salads. Absolutely.

    For 40 years I have been asked at restaurants, "would you like some fresh ground pepper for your salad". My reply the last 20 years, hell no it gives me heartburn.
