Polamalu. His athleticism, anticipation and intellect for the game were all other worldly. We may never see another player like him.

Interesting topic. I am going to exclude guys who only played the very end of their career in the 200's like Bettis... But I don't think my list can stop at 5 hahah

    1. Troy
    2. Antonio Brown
    3. Watt
    4. Harrison
    5. Ward
    6. Faneca
    7. Pouncey
    8. Heyward
    9. Miller
    10. Minkah (still time to climb)
    11. Hampton
    12. DeCastro
    13. Farrior
    14. Shazier (if he stayed healthy he could be higher)
    15. Bell
    16. Ike T.
    17. Timmons
    18. Peezy
    19. Clark
    20. Santonio Holmes

HM: Randle El, Marvel Smith, Villanueva, Plaxico, Willie Parker, Haden, Woodley, etc.

EDIT: added Faneca, who absolutely should have been included

I know his career began in the late '90s, but how is it that everyone is forgetting Alan Faneca? The guy was a seven-time All-Pro for the Steelers, the first of them in 2001, and he's in the Hall of Fame.

For absolute gamechangers, I'd go with Troy, then Watt, then AB.

But it's difficult to separate them from the surrounding cast.

There are so many great players to choose from. We are blessed to have a quality franchise that produces and cultivates that type of talent.

In 48 words you never mentioned "hair". All that other stuff comes a distant second. Just ask Proctor and Gamble.

Just kidding, you covered all the bases and were spot on (in spite of your bias TBR). Couldn't agree more.

Merril Hoge ; Pittsburgh Steelers (1987–1993) - 21st Century? I like Hoge too a lot but he was up in the booth when 2001+ rolled around. But his memory lives on. :applaud:

All fullbacks are generational and defy the laws of space/time. Long live the road graders!

I almost added Franco but he gets a different list.

Believe or not my Troybellringer55 handle name has nothing to do with Troy Polamalu.

    Troy is my actual name.

I played football from 5th grade up to when I graduated high school.

When I was in my Freshman year I hit an another player really hard, he had to be helped off, my defensive of coach said there is Troybellringer... ringing bells....
55 was my football numbers played ILB, Buck position mostly on defense.

So it kind of stuck and I used it for my first e-mail etc.

And that was long before I knew who Troy Polamalu was or even heard about Troy Polamalu... but a lot of people probably think my handle name is in reference to TP43 but it's actually not.

We played similar styles, except the only difference was Polamalu was hell of a lot better football player than I could of ever been. LOL.....

The funnier part is my Home Ec teacher in high school she would call me "Troy Donahue" all the time, because when she was a teenager she was in love with him.

I get that, but there aren’t that many Hall of Famers who played for them in the 21st century.

His Steelers career ended right around the same time as Bettis, but yeah he was in the league long enough afterwards to be included. I just had forgotten and considered him a 90's player like Bettis. He really should be included, and would be 6th when corrected. Best overall OL we've had in that time frame and Pouncey is a very close second.

    1. Troy
    2. Antonio Brown
    3. Watt
    4. Harrison
    5. Ward
    6. Faneca
    7. Pouncey
    8. Heyward
    9. Miller
    10. Minkah (still time to climb)
    11. Hampton
    12. DeCastro
    13. Farrior
    14. Shazier (if he stayed healthy he could be higher)
    15. Bell
    16. Ike T.
    17. Timmons
    18. Peezy
    19. Clark
    20. Santonio Holmes

No sir she was way too old for me! I was more into the student teachers or maybe a fresh 1 or 2 year substitute.

you're kidding right? He has 72 sacks in his first five seasons. Defensive player of the year in 2022. I'd say he's done more than enough to warrant consideration to be on the made up list

We had a hot young English teacher who showed up at our HS Friday night dance with bare feet and high as a kite. She danced provocatively with both male and female students and was fired immediately. She was gone before school started on Monday.
