Maybe we should give Danny Smith a shot so he can see how bad his blocking schemes are......:hmm:

HEY, that is actually a good idea, but cannot imagine how that works without too much risk of fumble.

agreed. I think Watson will be the upback, with JuJu returning.

I think if Sutton is healthy, his hat will be thrown in the ring as well.

I think Eli Rogers is the only other option.

    DHB, Hunter are not returners.
Burns is too important to risk on returns.

Conner is another upback option as well.

McCullers. The team is going to try something new this year, and put one of the biggest guy on the team on KR duties.

It seems impossible for the Steelers to sign a kicker who can boot it out of the end zone or get a capable returner who's not our franchise wr as of late.

Unrelated.. but I'm gonna post anyway lol

Why is it that every team in the league can play action pass to the fb or rb on goal line against us and we look like idiots in the red zone

He only returned 5 kicks 4 as a sophmore and only one as a junior, he had 11 returns as a freshman for a puny 12.0 yard average, so as a returner with only an 11.6 yard average on 16 total returns I have my doubts counting on him as a returner........

He may have got better though. He was replaced by Adoree Jackson right? Tough to get the gig when that dude is there.

JJ Wilcox returned 31 kicks for 780 yards (25.2 yard average) at Georgia Southern. Colbert & Tomlin have been doing their homework.

Yep. I think this and being the 3rd safety in nickel is why he is here.

What would you say are the biggest differences between the two. Not arguing just seeking some insight.

A KR doesn't need to catch under pressure. He has time to read the blocking after taking the kick. He has to hit the hole designed by the playcall.

A PR has to move around the field to receive, and the ball he receives can be moving in different ways. he has to receive under pressure. He has to make guys miss, he potentially takes big hits.

PR takes far more specific skills, simply put he has to make the play himself.

Ain't nobody better. Be nice if we could get someone to return punts except for those expected to land within the 15 yard line, save those for AB

Our KR unit has averaged less than a touchback since 2010. Solution: name whoever you want, tell him to kneel each time, and we'll improve our starting field position average....

Getting serious: Rogers / Juju / Wilcox could be options. Not sure if Haden could be an option too. Anyone of them is faster and with better skillset than last years KRs.
