Yea know, I get it, being a past star for the Steelers in Pgh; you'd get a bit assumptive on your celebrity status. But can you give us a break, Cam? You are not some 25-year-old rising star who can command a huge contract. You are a soon-to-be 35-year-old, coming off a pretty major injury/surgery. For you to act all indignant over fans questioning if you should retire, with your (at this point) over-the-top $22 mill salary is clearly out-of-bounds.

Why don't you try applying some of that "humbleness" you used when accepting your "Man of the year" trophy? You acting all indignant isn't working. Know your place. You were a great Steeler, in your day, but your about to turn 35 and had 2 whole sacks last year. It is NOT out-of-line for fans to question if you should retire at this point, with your $22 mill cap hit. Who do you stand favorably to this list of highest paid D players?

This is a ridiculously myopic argument. The only one acting indignant here is the OP.

The contract Heyward is riding was offered by the organization, paid for with Rooney's money. But fans like you are mad at Heyward.

You again retreat to your two sacks stat, but ignore that Cam missed a full six games last year, and played at less than 100% the bulk of the games he was back. You can assume he's going to get hurt again if you like, but it's not in his history to miss time often, and entering last year he had made the Pro Bowl six years running, and was named first-team All Pro three of those years, second-team All Pro in another.

Cam's "indignant" attitude isn't about getting money he isn't earning; he's talking about proving everybody who thinks he still can't perform wrong. The guy wants to be on the field earning the paycheck. Father Time catches up with everyone, and Cam is definitely in the twilight stage of his career, but aside from the groin injury last year he was still delivering at a high level.

Finally, Cam isn't the one that holds the power here. The team can extend or even cut him if they wish; he's not holding anyone hostage. Remember also that the cap number he carries is in part a result of the org asking him to restructure in years past in order to free up cap space.

So the guy you mocking, projecting anger at, and directing to "know your place" is simply wanting to get back to practice and show a productive end to a contract signed in 2020.

It's nice having FosterMorris/Silverback back in the fold.

He has already said he won't take a pay cut, they need to do some type of restructure to lower his cap hit of 16 million in 2024.

Ben Roethlisberger took a $5 million pay cut on the last deal he signed. Not sure why Cam thinks he is bigger than Ben.
Report: Ben Roethlisberger Took $5m Pay Cut, Lowers Cap Hit by $15m | Steelers Now

I was shocked after the season Cam just had, when he came out and said he is not going to take a pay cut next year. His best days are behind him, reality needs to set in that he no longer deserves to be paid like he is a top player on the team.

How many of us would take a pay cut or retire because an on the job injury prevented us from doing our best?

OK: Go to your Boss and tell him that next year you want to go from working 5 days a week, to only working 2 days a week, and see if he agrees to continue paying your entire salary next year.

So what exactly constitutes you or any other person on here to deem someone else a troll for expressing their opinion? Is it someone that just doesn't share your opinion or wear rose colored glasses all the time?

I've not been on the board super long like some of you, but in the time I have I've yet to see a lot of troll activity. I see some people that are maybe are more critical at times but so what. If I see some crap on here i dont like i move on or pay no attention because its not a big deal and we are all steeler fans.

I used to go to a certain bar that had a solid steeler following that went there. With a couple of them it seemed like we followed different teams given our views about the team or certain players or situations and we'd debate and sometimes even shake our heads at each other's viewpoints. But then when the steelers would make a play or win it was high 5's and chest bumps. Ain't nothing personal or trolling about someones opinion on something their passionate about.

Really!? Well I stand corrected on that if that is in fact the case.

But how can you be sure it's him/her? Are all the trolls on this forum previously banned people that keep resurfacing? Or maybe they just share some of the same opinions on certain issues.

This is a very good forum

    There are very few trolls

There are many many good posters

And it’s not a matter of different opinion

It is a matter of presentation and incessant repetition and whining

Somehow most of them just get banned
