This game has been a defensive struggle. They've let the bungles hang around too long and now I bet this is gonna be the end.

I bet Mike Zimmer looked at Terrance Newman like Seinfeld when he got back to the sideline and "Newman".

Okay, can someone explain something to me? The Bengals get down to the 39 of Miami in overtime. Their FG kicker JUST kicked one from the 37 (a 54-yarder), so theoretically if they get, say, 5 yards from the 39, their chance of winning the game is probably north of 80%. So, in essence.....you gain 5 yards, you win the game. So, what is the defense on 2nd down from the 37? They rush 3 (count 'em 3) putting no pressure on Dalton whatsoever. Plus, Sanu is fairly wide open despite the 8 defenders supposedly guarding something and he flat drops the ball. Same situation on 3rd down (5 yards effectively wins the game) and Dalton throws it up for grabs about 30 yards downfield. Had I been watching the Steelers on EITHER side of the ball on that overtime series, I would have cursed them for rushing 3 OR for throwing deep when 5 yards wins the game.

Here's another thing I don't understand. What happened to the QB sneak on 4th and 6 inches? Why do teams find it necessary to do a handoff 3 to 4 yards deep in the backfield against a 10 or 11 man front? When Miami did that on their last offensive series, it struck me that I don't see many QB sneaks anymore. When you DO see them, they seem to work (unless Troy is doing his Superman impression). I see it happen to Pittsburgh, even with Big Ben in there.... I guess I'm just rambling here, but I think I'm surprised that the things Pittsburgh does to drive me nuts are the same things I see other teams do. Doesn't make it any easier to see Pittsburgh do them I guess....
