I think there's a lot of guys that we know what we are going to get out of.

I want to mainly focus on our secondary.

Is Sensabaugh a long term option in our secondary, ie: will he replace William Gay longterm?

Are Artie Burns and Sean Davis ready to step up and become impact players?

How out of sorts does Brian Allen look?

Does Cam Sutton look like a possible replacement if this is Ross Cockrells last year?

With the Giants passing attack, our secondary should be tested early and often .

It's as simple as this. Our defense has to be lights out this year. I don't care about offense anymore

While I get your point, I think this team can win with a mediocre defense, if our offense plays up to expectations. Dont give up big plays and create opportune turnovers.

This could be the best Steelers offense ever.

Sensabaugh has been playing outside, so I don't think he's a replacement for Gay. Besides, Gay isn't going anywhere. Sensabaugh will be the second team CB at both outside positions, at least until Sutton returns from injury. Speaking of Sutton, you won't see him against the Giants. Ditto Burns. We'll see very little of Sean Davis.

Brian Allen has an opportunity to make a name for himself, but it might be on special teams rather than at corner. I think he's headed to the practice squad, unless he really stands out in coverage. JaCorey Shepherd will probably play more at corner than Allen.

TJ Watt. Not even going into this one.

Jerald Hawkins (my personal pick to have a sophomore surge). How much has he grown exactly? My most anticipated player actually.

Secondary. Read Steel_City's post. My thoughts essentially.

Tyler Matakevich. Has he done enough to overcome his physcial limitations?

Terrell Watson. With both Bell and Conner not playing... Watson should make the most of this. Granted... he may not make the final 53 but he can boost his odds to give a reason to keep him on the Practice Squad.

JuJu Smith Schuster. Want to see how well he can adapt to different roles as a wide receiver. Not to mention see those contested catches.

Jesse James. Want to see if he can bring the YAC through those seams. He has to in order to take the next step.

Joshua Dobbs. A good chance to showcase how far he has come since the start of training camp. His first ever trial by fire. How will he look. We will have to wait and see.

Reserve defensive lineman. From Alualu and Walton to Maxey and Kallon, how will these guys look? Can they showcase some pass rushing skills and generate heat?

B.J. Finney (Center). Love him as a guard but would like to see him improve as a center.

Brian Milhalik. He has had a year now under his belt. Want to see how much he has improved.

Justin Hunter. Has all the tools. This is his last chance to prove it. Let us see what he can do.

There are more but I am short on time I am afraid.. More later.

Holba! Of course, only on field goals and extra points.......not that we'll be punting 20 times or anything.....

JJSS. I want him to show enough that we're not counting on Bryant this season. Beyond that, can Dobbs finally give us a backup who's more than a statute back there or are we still at the whim of injuries at the QB position.

Martavis will leave JuJu in his dust ;)

JuJu will certainly be our #2 WR of the future but I am tempering expectations this year.

I want to see him block effectively, convert some 1st downs and a few tds.

Hargraves, Conner, every single secondary player must improve for us to get where we need to be. I thought you meant this season?

hilton did well in coverage, run support, blitzing and ST's. senquez who.

cobi did well. had a nice ST's tackle too. still a good blocker.

    moats nice game.

tj watt is as advertised. me likey.

dobbs tough night but expected. not surpassing LJ any time soon as #2.

    hargraves looks good.

    gay looked good.

grimble nice contested catch, stupid penalty took it away.

backup RB needs work. FT and davis. hope conner shows better. watson did OK.

    kick returners wanted:

AB may have to return punts again if game 1 is any indication. a work in progress.

ST's coverage units looked pretty good so far.

allen has some work to do but not totally bad night so far.

    thats all i got.

I am not so sure about leaving him in his dust SCNB. JU JU can ball. Thank you Swanny!

Wait till you see him, SCNB he had NO trouble the practice I was at competing against Steelers secondary.

Coates, was on the jugs gun before practice the day I was there, I think he sees what I saw. DHB, Hunter, Coates, Hamilton,Rodgers

and Ayers really need to impress in other areas beside their wr responsibilities or 2 of them could be on the outside looking in.

That comment was essentially in regards to 40 time or on go routes.

I am high on JuJu in the longterm. Future 1000 yard / 8 td kind of guy.

In the short term, this year and maybe next year, Bryant is the man, after AB of course.

Thanks for the info. Always love to hear from people who took in the action at St Vincent.
