As of right now, the Kansas City Chiefs biggest weakness of their team is their rushing defense. They are currently ranked 26th in rush defense. The Pittsburgh Steelers biggest weakness of their team is their rushing offense. They are currently ranked 22nd in rush offense. It's interesting that the 2 best teams in the AFC (possibly the entire league) issues are in the rushing category. Chiefs have defensive issues with the rush, and the Steelers have offensive issues with the rush. If the Steelers and Chiefs played right now, which of each team's biggest weakness do you think will get exposed the most, and cost that team the chance of winning, the Steelers rush offense or the Chiefs rush defense?

Chiefs rushing defense. Because they haven't played a passing offense like ours which will frustrate their defense even more, and I think we are "capable" of running the ball, as long as Ben can call the plays.

I think we are a more complete team.

    30 for 30

Keep KC under 30 and try to get over 30

Too many weapons for them to not score points.

I like our defense a lot better than theirs I can tell you that much.

Raiders had them again, but scored too quick. Mahomes is the highest paid player for a reason and he shows why.

But I feel we are all getting way too caught up in KC just play who we have to play when the time comes.

Agree, none of this matters until the AFCCG and I sure hope we get there. Lots of football left to be played of course.

However, I do like our chances. We have it all on defense... We can stop the run, we can rush the passer (with or without blitzing), and we have playmakers in the secondary that can get their hands on the ball. TBH we really do have the type of defense that stands a chance at stopping Mahomes and the Chiefs. Offensively we are very good as well. The rest of the season will just come down to making the plays we need to, and making sure we continuously win the turnover battle. We are going to be a REALLY hard out if we win the turnover battle.

Unless we find someone who can play blanket coverage on Kelce we are in tough against them.
Raiders played well on defense except Kelce seemed to get wide open whenever he wanted to.
We need someone faster than LB and taller than a safety, maybe put Sutton on him full time.

As far as the running game goes I just don't see our OC or Ben committing to the run to take advantage of their weakness, plus its not exactly our strength.

KC's entire defense can be absolutely shredded. That being said this Steelers team fails to sustain drives against the Cowboys and Jaguars, etc. at times. Which is definitely a pause for worry because if they do that thing where they go 3 and out for almost an entire quarter, I dont care how good the defense is playing, the Steelers will go down multiple scores.

Honestly, best hope is someone else takes them out in the playoffs. No one else in the AFC truly scares me at all.

If the offence continues to improve and they develop a functioning and consistent run game we can beat anybody without exception, especially at Heinz field.

KC will be favoured if they meet the Steelers, they are phenomenal but beatable. Injuries may be a factor. If the lose one of Mahoney, Kelce or Hill they become much less explosive. I don’t think the steelers are overly dependent on anybody to the same extent (bar Ben obviously)

Season is only getting going in many ways. Stay healthy and in form and anything is possible.

    Good question.

We can't run against bad rush defenses right now. So that's a matchup in their favor. But it doesn't really hurt us. Our short passing game and Ben's <2.5 second release is our run game right now.

I would say that our secondary is a bigger weakness right now, and I have been saying that for more than a year. Even second tier qb's can find open receivers. Mahomes will set a passing record against us if our front 4 doesn't get home. Our ability to rush against them won't matter because Ben will be in a shootout before he leaves the locker room.

Patrick may get between 300 to 315 yards against the Steelers secondary, because he is that great, but a passing record, I doubt that, but let's just say he throws for 325 yards against the Steelers, I believe the Steelers secondary is that good enough to force Patrick to throw 2 interceptions if both teams were to go against each other.

I was being facetious with the passing record comment, but I don't disagree with most of what you are saying. My only disagreement, and I've been saying this since last season, is that our front 7 is responsible for the success of the secondary. Without our front disrupting the opposing qb, either pressure, hit, or sack, our secondary can't keep up with the receivers.

We've seen it all year. When we don't get home, even second teir qb's are finding average receivers running free through our porous zones or slow/misplayed man coverages. The success of our D runs through the front 7 and our secondary is the beneficiary of the best front 7 in the business.

I agree. The Steelers secondary can be prone to giving up completions on 3rd and long at times, which is annoying, cause when the defense plays great on 1st and 2nd down, then to give up a 3rd and long conversion to a open receiver, it is really frustrating.
