I see your point and it is perfectly valid. Tomlin is a great coach. His record is great considering the poor talent that Colbert has proved. Kevin has seriously lost his touch. Fire Him!!!!

making the pro bowl nowadays is a joke anyway imo. who cares... pro bowl fan voting :lolol: I remember going to Clev Indian games and punching out all the Tribe players for the all stars.

Don't forget that clark was stuck behind the late, great sean Taylor..... doesn't matter how good he was, he wasn't going to see much of the field in Washington....
And farrier benefited from a switch from outside with the jets, to inside with us where his talents translated best.....
Not sure how much development went into those

People rag on Tomlin to boost Cowher. The man lost so many big games as a favorite, it's not funny. Both coaches had their faults and successes. But let's not try and act like Bill was some genius.

I’m sure playing in a great defense helped too. But I think it’s fair to say there was some development of their games since they weren’t Probowlers at their previous spot but were with us.

I think it's important to take into consideration that during the Cowher era the Steelers had a pretty clear path to the best 3-4 defensive players as few teams were running a 3-4. Which made quality system players available at all levels of the draft and UDFA. Fast forward to...let's say from the time Cowher retired till today. A lot more teams are running something that resembles a similar defense to the steelers..which means more teams trying to acquire the same positional talent year in and year out. Not saying one is/was better than the other. Just making an observation of how the league has changed...which impacts draft strategy etc...

Exactly, Cowher was 1-4 at home in the AFCCG

Yupp. And SD beating the Steelers in 94 is more inexcusable than the Jags winning a playoff game in Pittsburgh. I give credit to Cowher for helping Ben along the way. But, it's not as if he is leaps and bounds better than Tomlin (If at all).

FWIW Tomlin was the HC of two DPOY in Harrison and Polamalu, even if he didn't draft them .
