I believe he is comparing it to Jake (from) State Farm. He is playing the name game. Kind of like the former NASCAR driver and dribbler Dick Trickle.

If we have to play a rookie QB, the season is over. There are certain rookies at some positions won't play unless there's a rash of injuries, with CB and QB being on the list.

He will only play for a team that will let him wear khakis.

The Steelers have 5 CBs ahead of any rookie, so tell me where a rookie would play, dude you're wrong . I already listed the 6 positions ahead of CB, since you can't follow along here it is again.
    WR
    IOL
    NT
    Safety
    ILB
    OLB

I also can’t see how you can just ignore failure after failure when drafting secondary. When our picks are as limited as they are and the window is slightly cracked open, you can’t afford another swing and miss at CB. Picking from a pool of 1st round guys maybe but we’re picking mid 2nd.

we just traded for wormley. He is even listed as a NT. We have mclendon. Do we need a 5th guy? Buggs and alualu can also play that position. Follow along. Why have they met with 3 corners already? We carry 6 of them normally, we have 5 right now. We also have, now follow along, brought in safeties. Behind our starters we have 5 safeties. As far as WR, maybe we do, maybe we dont. We have 4, we have added a TE that Ben has already talked about spitting out. We have 5 others we have brought in already. Just because you may want these positions doesn't make it so. Are you following along?

Well if they’re so good let’s see what’s they can do with a 4th round CB. I don’t know how wrong you can go with Minkah,Haden and Nelson. We haven’t drafted any of them. The weakest link on our secondary? TE ,the guy we drafted. CB at 49 is extremely risky based on our history ,until proven otherwise. If there’s so much confidence in the coaching we have Layne and Sutton as back ups....

Wormley is a 3/4 DE, I don't see him being the answer at NT he's 6'5 . McClendon signed with the Jets a few ago, try to keep up . So you want to use one of their 6 picks on a CB, who isn't going to contribute in 2020? Layne couldn't even get on the field last season, except for special teams.

TE is a safety. This was Austin's first year and our DBs played quite well. Layne sat pretty much for a year. We very well could lose sutton and hilton next year so we should have one in the pipeline. Haden will turn 31 next week and 32 by this time next year. I'm just saying it's not out of the rehlm of possibilities. They have met with 3 guys that fall in this range.

There are very few positions that are out of the realm of possibility. It’s just my opinion that there are bigger needs. Let’s see these other guys develop before we invest one of four limited picks on a CB who probably isn’t gonna play unless we suffer a couple of injuries at CB. We will bring back at least one of Hilton or Sutton. There is also FA which has proven to be our best option to date. Take a CB in the 3rd or 4th if there is so much faith in the new coaching and let’s see them coach up what we already have. We have a couple other CBs stashed on the roster as well. Just like our Safeties, let’s see them develop ,no?

mccullers as you well know he's 6-7 and a NT. The Steelers official site has wormley listed as a NT. I know they didn't check with you first before they did these moves so we all question their thinking.

Me thinking our 49th pick will be an OLB
Or Offensive tackle. Just my opinion.

They can go in a lot of directions. I would say QB,TE and probably ILB are the least likely.

    OL
    RB
    WR

I was pondering that today when I read some report about not being surprised if the team goes D in the 2nd. All of the signings this year are for the most part..for this year. It brings some stability and depth, but unless a potential impact player drops to us (could happen), I think they look long and hard at 4 positions...OL (G,C specifically), ILB, OLB, D line. Everything else might be in play, but line depth and future replacements are key to rebuilding after Ben.

I'm narrowing it down between OL and WR...The value at these two positions at 49 should be pretty darn good.

And yes, I agree WR is deep but that can be taken two ways...1) Excellent prospects throughout the top 100 or 2) There are more starters than bench players throughout the draft. I'm leaning towards #1.

As for the OL, there will be some inside and outside guys available.

I think AV has become a liability, the need is there.

Just because I'm a conspiracy theorist LOL, I have a gut feeling that AV retires after the 2021 season. Pure speculation on my part. I just think trying to keep that weight up is becoming a burden.
