Different times....If you can get one great but when you only have one pick (49) before 102 IMO we have bigger needs that’s all. I’d be more worried about who the RB is running behind if we are worried about our running game. IOL is a bigger need than RB.

So have you now a couple of times. Funny how far he's come up in many rankings isn't it. Many sites have him from the bottom of the 4th through the 6th. Also into the top ten of qbs in this year's an group funny guy. Not as much of a reach as you first made fun of now is he. Keep amusing us with your know it all attitude. :lolol::cool:

It would be a reach for the Steelers though.

Maybe we can draft both Taylor and Swift and just tell the rest of the league to "Shake it Off". I'm sorry, I'll let myself out now.

Because we're in win now mode, and we only have 6 picks, they can't be using one on some project QB .

Do you really think all these 3rd,4th,6th and 7th picks will make a difference this year for this team to win now? Guys we draft from these spots do not make a difference as rookies and very little in year two. Usually depth for the future if they even make the team.

So it is funny you mention this because yesterday in my limited listening time on sirius radio Jim and Pat were talking about rookie snap counts. I can't remember what they said was good for the rookie class, however I tried searching for snaps by rookie/team and could find it. So what I did is take the 2 SB teams and their draft class and then compared them to us. Here is what I come up with and I did not add in ST snaps:

    KC - 6 players @ 2164 snaps......5 out of 6 added something.

    SF - 8 players @ 2860 snaps......5 out of 8 added to the O & D....they drafted a punter.243 snaps included in the 2860 total

    Steelers - 8 players @ 1863 snaps......4 players added something.

Just some info as to who adds what, imo looking at this these 2 teams got more out of their draft class than we did by far. Bush and DJ accounted for 1617 of our 1863 snaps.

They might not make a difference as rookies, but they need depth at certain positions, and some of these guys will play special teams a QB taken won't help at all.

You were just saying a cb wouldn't play as a rookie, now you have changed it to qb. Make up your mind about these needs we have, now you are saying they may not play as rookies. We are in win now mode you said. We have all these needs for these six draft picks you say, now that has changed? yet it I say it and it's wrong. Wow, you can't have it both ways. Another thing, we saw just last year that a backup qb can indeed contribute. So again, you are wrong.

I'm not sure what you are disagreeing about. Bush cost us 3 picks and Johnson was a 4th. 4 picks, two players.

What I am disagreeing about is you are saying 2 guys accounted for 2 picks but yet we had the same picks as SF and still had less snaps.....even with these guys costing us picks which has no meaning. If anything it should mean we should have had more snaps not less. Bosa and Samuel were 1517 and Bush and DJ had 1571 so that means each team still had 6 players and SF had 997 more snaps. Same number of players so costing us picks have no bearing right?

I'm not disputing number of snaps as you were talking about. Just the fact we used 4 draft spots to get 2 players. SF players had injuries or they would have had even more. I agree with what you are saying. I also think a 2nd and 3rd round player could have contributed but we will never know. I was really high on Deebo.

We are kinda on the same page however these picks you are talking about have no affect on what you were originally talking about. Also where do you get 4 picks from, I mean in last years draft we used our 20th and 52nd to get the 10th that is one less pick we had. You were talking about 3-7 round picks and I was comparing them. I was just comparing these and we had the same number picks and almost a thousand less snaps. If we didn't hit on Bush and DJ our draft is a failure imo, we got zip from 4 guys in rounds 4-7 that is bad when comparing us to KC and SF. I agree with you Deebo was my favorite WR coming out last year. :smiley1:

We used a 1st, 2nd last year and 3rd this year on bush. DJ was a 3rd. Added up that's 4 picks. Losing a 2nd and 3rd are picks that matter usually. That's all I'm saying. We used up 4 high picks for the two players that played fewer snaps then SF two players that were injured for part of the season. I am agreeing with what you said but we used even more to get less playing time.

So taking Fromm as a potential backup would be an insurance pick?
