Not necessarily which you think was the greatest empire. Which one is your favorite, and what about it makes it your favorite?

This comes from a conversation we have been having at work for most of the day today. I thought it interesting enough to ask you guys.

Apple. The founders were innovative, non-conforming and had a knack for coming up with what consumers wanted, even if the customers weren’t clamoring for it before it existed. Wozniak basically invented the personal computer, and the iPhone changed the world.

I know that’s not what you were talking about, but it’s what came to mind first. If I had to pick an actual historic empire, I would go with the Greeks because of their advancements of civilization.

I say Rome as well. Between them and Britain, we have most all the comforts and accommodations of western life. But we had to fight Britain twice, so they're out.

I also like Rome because even though they were split into Roman/Byzantine, they put to bed the majority of the barbarian tribes that were plundering, raping, and pillaging most of the known world. Those were bad things even back then.
If you use the Roman design for building your garden path, all the way up to a rural road, it still stands as the best way to build those things.
A lot of things that will take time to discuss.
