Anyone that hates George Pickens is not thinking in terms of winning football games. There are only a handful(maybe a dozen) people in the entire world that can do what GP can do on a football field. Yes, I would LOVE to see him become more like Larry Fitzgerald in his maturity and approach to the game.

 

Yes, yes... We beat a really bad team without him. That's great. We're not winning any games against the teams we will be facing in January gaining only 267 yards. Our offense wasn't particularly good today, and was so because we missed Pickens. Got a gift FG from the defense early setting us up inside the 35 and then an interception that gave us yet another short field. Happy to get the win, but it wasn't a pretty one.

If that is an acceptable (or quite good) offensive performance, then we as a fanbase are going to be VERY sad come playoff time.

 

That rules dumb. It doesn’t bother me in the least bit.
What bothers me is when you know it’s a rule and you’re not focused enough to not hurt your team. That said I wouldn’t want to see him benched.

I think I hate how he acts sometimes... but the kid is a legitimate top 10 WR in the league and we should be doing everything we can to keep him around and not just ship him off because he's a clown. Drafting a first round WR or trading for someone isn't just going to replace what he brings. He's one of those types of talents that you don't let get away. We pay Tomlin a lot of money to deal with idiots. Earn your money.

The only guys that have been definitively better than him this season has been Chase, Jefferson, McLaurin, St. Brown, healthy AJ Brown and healthy Nico Collins. The next group is Pickens, Lamb, Jeudy, Flowers, Smith-Njigba, and McConkey.... Hard to put more than a guy or two from that list ahead of him right now IMO. He's worth the 30 million a year on the field, we just have to find a way to make sure he doesn't find his way off it. He hasn't been suspended or had anything super crazy happen just yet, but he is teetering. Either way, I think we should pay him. Grab a #2 in the draft or FA and worry about replacing GP him in 4-5 years if its the same story.

 

I don't expect you to know this. But wilson had 1/3rd more yards with him. And a lot better QBR.

 

Yes, we lost to a bad team on the road. On a Thursday night. In a snow storm. What's the point? The offense was rough today, and that's ok. But don't sit there and act like our offense was pretty good out there just because we didn't lose the game lol Simply winning the game doesn't mean the offense played well.

The Browns are officially eliminated from playoff contention today. While I'd love to snooze our way to a 27-14 win in the post season against the Browns... that isn't going to happen.

Which is a direct implication that us winning today somehow hurts Pickens value to this offense. When I said that today's offensive performance should have improved his personal value, not devalued it, you went on a multi post response that pointed to us winning the game being the reason why. Not really sure how else to take that conversation? You very obviously believe that today's offensive performance was good enough for us to not need Pickens' services at WR because we won the game.

 

This is worse than a discussion with PriorScrible where you ignore what people actually say so you can argue something else

If Tomlin and the Steelers hold to form, he won't be allowed to stray to far. As we all know, they don't put up with crap very long even if you're a super star.

 

Also. I’m not really following what your beef is with everyone?
I think everyone is just frustrated that Pickens is doing stuff that gets him penalized.
