Yeah, my bad on leaving out NYJ and Dallas. I can agree that Dallas' defense blows lol NYJ's backers aren't bad though... They have a nice D.

Like I said, it's tough to compare them because Spence and Williams are so young and don't have much NFL game experience as starters. Some of the guys you mentioned as being overrated or not as good as our back ups have been good solid starting ILB's for a long time (see Indy, Philly, NO). That's no easy task in this league. Spence has never started, and for much of Williams' starting experience he played well below starting caliber, even if he was thrust into a bad situation too soon... although his play did get more acceptable as time went on. It's also worth mentioning that Williams is essentially "2 down" backer and will probably never log more than half of the defensive snaps since he is incapable of defending the pass (and probably will be his entire career as he is athletically limited in that regard).

I think they need to see more snaps before I can rank them ahead of some of the guys you did. They just aren't on that level yet IMO. I still love having both on my team, and think that either one of them could turn out to be awesome players. They are great backups to have at the very least. Hopefully in a couple years they change my mind, but they aren't quite there yet.

oK, i ADMIT, I didn`t read all of the posts in this thread...
I think LeBeau will find packages to get Spence on the field, if he continues to show he deserves it...
We didn`t hang onto him this long for nuthin...
Yes, we have a lot of talented linebackers, at the moment,
But who knows when they could get hurt?
And, Dick is a master of "unconventional warfare"...
He used Troy as basically a linebacker, last year...
Who knows what he can come up with, with this many "toys" to play with?!?
We might get a decent draft pik, in a trade for one of our "backups", But I would prefer to keep them all here, and use them interchangeably, in different situations, and to let them rotate, during the game, to keep them all fresh.
That might change, if we got an awesome trade offer from another team... But I wouldn`t go looking for it.
I do know there are only so many roster spots to go around, so, it might be worth seeing if we could get a top-flight cornerback, for instance, for one of our "back-up" LB`s, but I wouldn`t go looking for it...
IF another team calls with a good offer, I would consider it. Otherwise, stand pat with the "cards in our deck"... They can all be put to good use!
    GO STEELERS!!!
