Someone in this thread literally said it, which is why I brought it up.
As for saying the defence is or isn't elite, I agree. If you think it's elite, it shouldn't suddenly change. I can see how doubt can start creeping in on any belief, but you don't go from elite to garbage over night, or vice versa.
    People are too reactive.

I dislike Tomlin. That will not change after a win, even a convincing win. I think Watt is an elite player, that will not change after a game with 0 sacks. I think our team is very good, that won't change after a loss to Cleveland.
Everyone needs to slow down a little bit.

That strategy didn't work out for James Harrison, I was happy to see him lose in the Super Bowl after he quit on the Steelers.

They also should have kept Harrison

    Watt hit the rookie wall

If Harrison was available for the Jacksonville game I believe we win

Watt sucked in that game and kept loosing containment on third and long

I'm baaaaack. I had to dig this thread up from the dead to, gulp, give Tomlin and staff props. If they manage to win a playoff game, I won't have a leg to stand on. I am still skeptical, but i'd rather my Steelers win a SB and eat lots of (tasty) crow, rather than be proven right...again. I am sure my posts are motivating Tomlin. I am sure he sees them and is saying i'll show you I can adapt and change, even if I can't figure out how to manage the clock under 2 minutes to go, as I have only been a head coach for a couple of decades. Sorry, couldn't resist a parting shot.

The Steelers are 4-0 against playoff caliber teams this season.

and 5-3 against the garbage teams. This is generally what Steelers fans get frustrated with regarding Tomlin. We go out and completely shut down a Ravens offense and win the game while playing poorly on offense ourselves, then turn around and lose to Indy with a back up QB in, Cleveland with their back up QB, and Dallas at home.... Win the tough ones and then lose games we absolutely should win 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Really the only time Tomlin struggles with playoff caliber teams is when we are in the playoffs. I hope that changes this season.

Yes, all of those things... Imagine our record if we could find a way to beat the teams that we are "supposed to". I get that even the bad NFL teams are really not that much worse than the .500 teams, but it just sucks that you can pretty much call the games we're going to lose to inferior opponents because of how predictable it is. I thought we might lose to Cleveland this year, thought we'd lose to Arizona last year... there's a pretty long list (and it even happened with Ben-led teams too).

So we win all the games we're supposed to, and go 50/50 in the tough games. Seems to me we'd still be 9-3.

Yeah, that is true... That isn't the point I am making. We need to do better in the games we're supposed to win if we want to take that next step as a franchise. Its fine to lose one... it happens to everyone. But, in years where we go undefeated against winning teams need to end in us competing for the #1 seed, not still on the verge of being a wildcard team.

To put it in golf terms, we're hitting all the hero shots and birdie-ing the par 3's and 4's... but somehow butchering the par 5's and making pars and bogies. So close to that game changing number in the low 60's, but not taking care of business on the ones we should be to get there.

The NFL had so many upset this year, like raiders beat the ravens, almost beat the chiefs or the Browns beat the ravens, beat us,etc....Just look at the survival pool this year,it did not last long, like only 5 week or so!

For the last game vs browns, this is hard to play on a thursday night on the road....And the second thing, the reason why the browns have such a bad record is because of Watson who is now out for the season....Since he is out,the browns have a much better offense with Winston...They could not score 20 points with Watson, now this is different. So this is not a true 3-9 caliber team since Winston can throw 400 yards against any team...The key for the defense will be the turnovers today since the defense will have some chance against him!
