Nah...if you qualify you qualify. My point was the 3 Steelers teams I was referencing limped in and didn't look the part and it showed in the first round. Strange things happen, I'll give you that!

If you make the playoffs, you deserve to be there. You’re playoff worthy. You’re playoff caliber. Now are you championship caliber? Not necessarily. We’re probably just splitting hairs here though?

You mean the same season where the 12-4 Steelers were bounced by an 8-8 team in the wildcard?

you defend MT all day and all night

Blount was HOSED. he then went and had a successful remainder of the season elsewhere

    we boned that one

Tomlin in part is to blame

neither you nor I know it all - don't act like it. the organization screwed up and we paid for it w NO RB!

I am still wanting Tomlin gone, until he prove me otherwise. He has not...yet.
Tomlin lowered the bar, the new standard is avoid a losing season, back into the playoffs, get destroyed, say something lame like "our guys were resilient" and go home.

Tomlin and HIS staff deserve short-term praise. I give more praise to Kahn and Weidl's team to be honest.

IF the Steelers actually look like a football team and play a game in January, then I'll reluctantly downgrade Tomlin off the Inferno Seat, back onto the Hot Seat.
A second season in a row where we look like a REAL contender and he'll come off any warm seat and back to neutral. I am NOT holding my breath given the last 10 years of hot garbage (though admittedly, Browns fans would take our hot garbage compared to theirs for probably 8 of those seasons).

There has been a lot of speculation that Tomlin made promises to a few players about playing time that he didn't keep. I think it was more a matter of telling them one plan, but reserving the right to change things if what players did on the field dictated it. Maybe he did plan to give Blount the ball more, but Bell clearly needed to be the primary back. The mistake wasn't not using Blount more. It was in letting him force his way off the team. Bench him. Suspend him. Do anything but give him what he wants, which then tells other players they can pout their way into getting what they want.

The mistake was letting Blount leave. It was in allowing themselves to get played by the Patriots.

it was a mistake on several fronts - that one too, for sure.

Pats played us for 15 years!

INFERNO seat it is. Tomlin is kind of a football devil. Somehow misleading hundreds into believing he is the man, while shoveling shiite our direction. They can regroup, but its going to take assistant coaches overcoming a clown at HC.

That's why I'm saying it's dumb to come in here and say "where are all the Tomlin haters now" after every win.
It's a long season. If you think Tomlin is a good or bad coach shouldn't necessarily change every week.
My thoughts on Tomlin are based on his entire career, not individual games.

As for whether anything has changed. The one thing I see is teams are adapting to Russell Wilson's tendencies. It's really slowed our offence down.

LoL. This question had nothing to do with where are all the Tomlin haters....I don't know where You got that Idea from???
But is like most....someone says: the Defense is pretty good, and something goes wrong, and someone else says....where is that elite Defense??? When nobody even said they were elite. LoL
This is the exact same thing. People read into it what they want.

He is wrong about that. At the very least, they should have suspended Blount and made his ass sit on the bench the rest of the season rather than basically handing him to the Patriots. The guy walked out on the team and they rewarded him by giving him exactly what he wanted. That just can't happen.

Don't get too carried away. If the twos are basically poodles, that would be a very ugly win that you might take a while to recover from. Definitely would be a lights out experience. :hehehe:
