I don’t disagree, and I would have been very happy with Gonzalez. However, corner was deeper last year than LT.

    Honestly... so would I.

That said, who knows what Kahn/Weidl will do?! Only time will tell.

Sometimes PFF is a bit off. But that being said Cole has had his share of struggles. Moore is a different matter. This upcoming game would be a perfect time to have Broderick Jones get some playing time. Although I could see not upsetting the apple cart until the bye.

Agreed. In fact, I've mentioned that when bringing up Gonzalez previously. Hell, I might have taken two of the elite guys. Imagine Gonzalez and Porter starting at the corners for at least the next four seasons. :)

I'm still pushing the conspiracy theory that the Patriots would only make the trade if the Steelers guaranteed that they wouldn't take Gonzalez.

I believe they had to disclose to the Pats who they were taking. I’m trying to remember which SXM former NFL front office guy it was - probably Kirwan - who said that disclosure of the player was a standard part of those types of draft day trades.

The draft was deeper at CB than it was at OL, and Jones was rated as one of the top 3 tackles.

I would like to see Jones get some time too but I think the Offensive Line is the most critical component of a team after you have your QB particularly in this pass happy league. The Steelers got spoiled with Ben buying time so we got away with not restocking our line when we used to be known for having great offensive lines, so rebuilding it is key. If Benton becomes a stud that negates the immediate need for D-line next year so we need CB then Center. If a once in generation Center is there then i would take him even in the first round. I hope Jones becomes a dominant Left Tackle (please Lord!!). We need to get back to having two great lines.

    What I have been saying!

If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if this happens! Broderick cannot be any worse than Dan Moore at this point. Hell, Broderick already is something than Dan Moore will never be; a Super freak of an Offensive Tackle. Now, having aspects like size, overall strength, overall power, explosiveness, length, agility and flexibility collectively by themselves do not beget a great Tackle; much less a blindside one. That said, tools like the ones Broderick Jones has do not come around often; ones that should be cultivated.

Part of the cultivation is, of course, training. Practice makes perfect and Jones' work ethic is something that will carry him very far. However, the second is something he can only acquire in game; experience. Pre season only counts as so much. Give the man live, NFL Speed level reps.

    As John Facenda once said,

"Take your lumps... but get back in the chase!"

Broderick will take his lumps no doubt; many Rookie Offensive Tackles do. However, the more he learns, the better he will become.

The real question can Moore move to Right Tackle next season? He is signed though 2024.

Unloading Chuks would save 7,083.334. He is due a 4 mill roster bonus as well as a 3,083.334 dead cap. A no brainer.

Right Tackle might be a pick within the first 3. A center should be in the cards as well. Cole is signed through 2024.

I had already asked this question dating back to Training Camp. However, I believe the same question we have asked as now been effectively answered; big n, long o. As you said, Offensive Tackle has to be paramount in the upcoming draft!

Luckily, TheSteelersFans Draftnik in yours truly has already been hard at work regarding this. Thankfully, the 2024 Draft Class has OT as the deepest and most talented it has ever been in some time; 2020 and 2021 included. I get that Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are the literal number one and number two options but behind them?! Very high end but very big question marks.

I cannot say the same for much of the early projected 6 OTs I have going in Round 1 alone at this time; JC Lathams shortcomings being able to handle speed to power the only major spot.
