When Was the Last Time

When was the last time the Steelers were out of playoff contention with 3 games left???

 

Probably 2003

 

2025?

 

2012

 

Color me confused. Even if we lose tonight we won't be out of playoff contention. We actually still be leading the AFC North.

Well it’s 4 games (counting tonight’s Dolphins) but with 3 games—1988, I think. With 4 games left, I think it goes all the back to 1980. That’s crazy if I’m right !!

 

No not then. We ended with a 8-8 record, and we're still in it for awhile.

 

I agree. I don't know the exact dates, but I was thinking about that this morning, and found it quite interesting.
The reason I said 3 games is because most of the NFL has already played the 4th game.

 

Considering they finished 6-10, its hard to imagine that they were in contention this late in the season.

 

The reason I say that is because I don't remember what what the rest of division was at during that time.

32 teams. As of week 15 at least 12 teams are done. I guess we can give some credit to the Steelers for letting us have hope most the time with a few games left in season.

 

You do know I hate you during night games Pirates suck I know but I would love being in your time zone for their season. 4:05 games I'd love at this point of my life.

They were 5-8 in both of those seasons after 13 games....The chance was slim to none and it would been one of the biggest miracle of all-time if they would been IN

Just as example,in 2003 the steelers were also 5-8 after 13 games but by losing 2 of the final 3 games,the steelers had much better odds to draft Ben!

The steelers were at 6-7 after 13 games....The Bengals were at 9-4 and had the tiebreaker over the steelers by winning both matchup vs steelers....The steelers won the last 3 games but it did not matter at the end because the hole was way too big....similar to 2013 and 2022

 

Again are You trying to be slow. The Bengals, and , or other teams could have lost more games. They were in the hunt until the end. I already found what proves it. A post showing who was all in the hunt at the next to last week. So would like to make a bet???

 

If the bengals would finish the season at 9-7,they would still win the division and the steelers would been out of the playoffs.....For the other teams when you need that both Curtis Painter and Jamarcus Russell need to win their game against elite defense to make the playoffs,you know at the start the season is over!
