Ben is a warrior, no doubt about it, and one of the toughest quarterbacks in history. But he didn't have a great game last night. Maybe the rain had something to do with it, I don't know. He should have thrown a terrible INT in the RZ but the Bengal player dropped the ball. His decision making was spotty at best and I've resigned myself to the fact that Ben is NEVER GOING TO LEARN HOW TO JUST THROW THE FREAKING BALL AWAY rather than hanging onto it and taking unnecessary sacks. He also doesn't look quite as elusive as he has in the past either and may be carrying some extra weight.

I do give him a lot of credit for coming in at the end and playing hurt though. We will definitely miss him when he's gone and we'd better start thinking about his successor in the next year or two. At this point, I don't believe LJ is it.

I agree, but even with him if Cincy doesn't melt down, they may not win it. I agree he's their only option at QB, but does that really need to be stated.

Agree, not a good game but he often gets lamented for never leading the team on a game winning drive anymore. He did that last night and when most QB's probably wouldn't even be able to play.

And before anyone credits the penalties as the reason we won, Burfict isn't in position to do that without Ben leading them down the field to that point.

Kinda sad that what Ben did is being completely overshadowed by the bursh!t penalty ..He did lead us to that win hands down,,just his presence and ability to get back in the huddle is just awesome ..BB is a freakin warrior and he was there for the team when it counted

Let's not confuse this - no one is saying he shouldn't be credited with that final drive, even given the gift from Burfict and Jones. Maybe he would have gotten them into FG range without the penalties (I think he would have) but it would have been a much longer FG attempt, probably 45-50. Let's not lose sight of what the original question was - when has he played a good game, not a drive. The point being is this team, if last night didn't prove it enough, needs him to play well to win a tittle. The defense played very well, the RBs were solid, the FG kicker was money but this team goes on Ben and playing the type of teams they'll face moving forward, they can't win without Ben playing a top level (or the other team doing some things to beat themselves).
