They don't win without Shazier's INT either or if the defense doesn't stop the Broncos after his INT. Are you claiming the D was great last week too. They played a great half too.

His QBR last week wasn't even top 5 for this year.

So the defensive performance, including Shazier's INT had no impact on the outcome. The Steelers still win that game if the defense doesn't play great in the second because of Ben?

Taken from a true Buffalo Bills fan. You aren't kidding us anymore. Talk about disappointment.

 It's no wonder Terry Bradshaw hates Steelers fans and won't return to the city...

He also bailed the d out though by erasing the deficit they created in the first half. Team game.

You aint lyin'! I've said this a million times. When Ben is gone and we take years and years to replace him we will see just how great he truly was. Yeah he had a bad day yesterday but if it wasn't for Ben that game yesterday would have been a meaningless game altogether. Good grief. Was Landry gonna put up 450 on Seattle only to lose because of some monumentally stupid coaching decisions and horrid officiating? Was Landry gonna beat the bungles? Was Landry gonna beat the Broncos? If Ben can't "win big games" are these people in favor of just letting him go and putting in Landry and using the cap space to rebuild the defense from the jv squad it has become? I honestly don't wanna know the answer to that last question...

No doubt he's had his great moments, but the interceptions are a huge concern and the 18/14 TD/Int ratio is barely pedestrian. Last week it worked out, this week it didn't. Yesterday probably cost them a playoff spot. If they do make it, he will need to be near perfect to win on the road...can't be throwing 3 TD offset with 2 Int and expect to win..

No but you also can't let 4th string scrubs march up and down the field at will on your d either.

Ben plays very good most of the time , but every once in awhile it's like he gets fooled by the coverage . I am not sure why , but with the horrid defense that we have it just can't be done and expect to win ...

Come on man - the game last week against the #1 defense was huge. Ben played lights out. They put up 13 points in the first half which isn't really that shabby. The defense for the first half was completely awful - they allowed a struggling offense to convert 8 straight first downs - kudos to them for playing well in the 2nd half. Ben threw a completely asinine pick late in the game, but other than that the guy was a complete superstar.

Also - QB efficiency and QBR can be very subjective stats. In the Seattle game, Ben had only like a 85 efficiency rating, but when you put your eyes on it you can't tell the guy didn't play great - the picks really weren't his fault in those games. Here is a link on QBR that shows Charlie Batch having the best game ever - how realiable is that stat?

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...6-yard-two-pick-game-has-espns-best-qbr-ever/

I will give you that Ben performed poorly yesterday and I do agree that Ben has lost some of his late game mojo over the years, but it isn't like he hasn't shown up in his share of big games as well.

When your team is seeded and you only need to win two games against two lowly teams you dont have an off day, when you play against a 4 win depleted team with a QB signed off the couch a week before the game you as Ben should win that game even if your having an off day, certainly Harbaugh once again out coached Tomlin but thats to be expected, like one announcer laughingly said yesterday, Harbaugh beat the Steelers with his JV team, the Steelers dont want to be in the playoffs based off their un-motivated performance, so I hope they get their wish...........

Id also argue that the play call was retarded. Yes, Ben made a stupid decision and even worse throw but they never should have been passing in the first place. The whole "we arent going to live in our fears thing" needs to be reigned in when common sense will due. A first down wasn't terribly important there, punt it away and they'd have almost no time left do do anything.

Yeah the cliches are wearing thin on me too. There is such a thing as strategy and losing a battle to win a war. Or is that another cliche? LOL!

I think that's it, right there. For whatever reason Ben presses at times against inferior teams, or teams that we should beat based on record. For all of his physical gifts he still needs mental training to unlock his full potential.

    Losing BA helped his growth.

Maybe losing AB will be the final piece in his development.

Shaky Ben +pitiful Defense =LOSS. Team loss. Not a championship Defense anyways who is anybody kidding? The way they looked they had the champagnes on ice and thought it was going to be a cakewalk. They got there A## handed to them.

Ben has provided us with 3 Super Bowls. Without him 0. He will be missed. But when he has an off day they don't have a Defense to bail him out.

BAs team is 13-2, he knows how to motivate a team to win, obviously if BA was our head coach the steelers wouldnt be sleep walking right now, if you want to blame coaching take a long look at what we have coaching this team....

Put me in the 10%. I never thought we had any wiggle room. With the way Cincy was winning, I thought the games were must wins for awhile now. I've never understood how people think the early games "don't matter". Early losses add up and put us into tie-breaker scenarios, "needing a win streak", need help from this team BS etc, etc. You know what matters, putting notches in the W column early in the season and late. To borrow from the UFC, "Never leave it in the hands of the judges."

I wouldn't say he played well overall. Don't forget that Cincy dropped an INT in the RZ that he threw right to the LB, before it went to 6-0. Plus Cincy did kind of help with 30 yards off penalties and that fumble. I'll give him credit for being tough as nails though he got hurt because he wasn't wise enough to throw it away (I know that he like to make plays, but he's needs to stay on the field to do that).

Ben played with much better poise tonight, he didn't force nearly as much.

Ben wasn't great and needs to be much better going forward but if he doesn't come back in this game at the end the Steelers don't win its that simple. He made enough big throws and plays that last drive that Landry Jones simply would not have.
