LeBeau's defense wasn't effective his last few years in Pittsburgh

You are correct but why was it in Tennessee? There is more to it then just calling plays. I find it pretty funny DL’s defense went south once MT was here.

What are you basing that on? Do you go to every game and watch the Steelers coaches the entire game? or are you speculating, just like everyone else (including the media)...

Oh really, the Steelers had the #1 defense in the league in 2008 with LeBeau and MT, also had the DPOY in Harrison.

How many times do we have to go over this, watch the freaking game and you will figure it out . If Tomlin doesn't have a playsheet, and he isn't talking in his headset often, then he isn't calling the plays.

They have gotten better in not giving up the deep ball, the last few years. And lead the league in sacks the last 2 seasons, just need to be better in coverage especially in the middle of the field, covering tight ends mostly.

I get all that and don't disagree but going back to what we originally were talking about was our defense getting worse under MT which it has. DL was "washed" up but yet went to Tenn and did good. You bring up how we lead the league in sacks but you forget what our last playoff loss was.....45-43 to Bortles. You can lead in all the stats you want but if you play like we have over the course of that time we have nothing to show, which tells me the defense is the problem no?

Ben gifted the Jaguars with 14 points with his turnovers in that playoff loss, yeah LeBeau did so good in Tenn he wasn't retained .

Whatever you will see things the way you want to not gonna go back and forth with you. Our defense has done nothing but go backwards with Tomlin and that right there is the truth. You don’t score 42 points in a playoff game and lose cause of your QB.

Oh yeah the defense is supposed to overcome the 14 points Ben handed them early in the game , guess what the Steel Curtain isn't walking through that door . You're just looking for something to support your lame narrative.

Yeah just like when he took the timeout to overrule Fichtner on the 4th down play to a straight up draw play that failed miserably.

I could just hear the communication now. ""timeout, Randy we cant run that play it will fail, lets try something they will expect and are ready for. Go with the draw, they will totally see it coming"

if that makes you sleep better believe it, but the truth is in our play and when we have the best rb & wr in the game with a HOF qb and a good oline only one place to blame.......

Let's not hire Quinn, his defense and his team stinks, it looks like the players quit on him.

Yeah the Falcons are paralleling the Steelers now as big time underachievers.

Is this what happens when you let disappointment eat at your soul?

Having the "best" can be subjective. It doesn't matter if teams have the best this or that. What matters is how players perform in the moment. Did they always perform as the best? Did Ben always perform like a HOF QB? They didn't have those players together during most of the team's playoff runs. Not only that but each game can be broken down individually to determine why the team loss. Was it an untimely INT or fumble that sealed the team's fate or something else? The ownership takes those factors into account. It's why Tomlin still works for the organization.

That offence has been dog **** since Shanahan left. Quinn doesn't appear to be cut out to be a HC. I have no idea what he'd be like as a DC although his record indicates he would be a promising hire. Yes, he had the players in Seattle, but you still need to get them to do the right things, which he did.

I would hire Quinn tomorrow as the DC if it was up to me.

Every year we don't make/win the SB yes I am disappointed and yes at some point when it happen many times in a row you get sick of it.......when I say you I mean me cause these are my feelings. Now all the things you bring up are all fine points but is all comes back to the top, the HC.

Since our last SB appearance(a loss) we are 3-5 in the playoffs of them 8 games we only played the Pats once(a loss) so it isn't like we were even playing the best teams. Since that SB we have had a team where many people picked us as SB winners and we come up short. Has injuries played a part of course it has with every team, but hey we have a coach that talks the talk right....next man up!

You may be a Tomlin guy and that is fine I feel off that boat over a year ago.

It comes back to the organization. One person doesn't decide the fate of this team.

I couldn't care less if the team replaced Tomlin tomorrow. I understand why they haven't replaced him yet. It's out of our hands anyway. The chances that the next guy that replaces Tomlin has as much success as Tomlin are slim.
