What's wrong with you?

Not all, but some of you here have the most pessimistic, negative, troll like attitude against the team you call "yours." Just going thru some of the posts you sound like fans of the Browns, and that the Steelers are at the bottom of the league, and we are 5 days from the playoffs beginning? How could someone possibly post "I know we won, but what if?" What if you took your piss poor attitude and joined the Toronto Argonauts as a fan? Same people who say we won't win this Sunday against Miami are the same who would complain on paying taxes after winning the $500 million Powerball. It just blows my mind that this fan base has some who truly believe every year is the same as a Madden Video game, and we "win every year or turn it off." Truly bizarre reactions and opinions from a fan base who has won 7 in a row, and playing in January again. Wait, since we lost to 3 playoff teams and won those 7 against non playoff teams those wins don't count do they? Unreal logic by some unreal fans. See ya Sunday boys!

Welcome to the board! You've been a member as long as I have, however you have a few less posts. I'm an eternal optimist, but at times I speak my mind here. And when I do, it may not always come off "glowingly." While I doubt you're referring to any of my posts this week, as I'm tickled pink about the win over the Browns with our back ups, I also want to see the team do better. And, I believe that Mike Tomlin and the coaches read this message board to determine what they should focus on, lol.

 

I think the "good win, but" posts on here are now being done tongue in cheek because we haven't lost a game since they started.

 

I have 4 heads, 7 arms, 5 legs, and 3 tittays.

I'm self-conscious about it, so please don't make fun of me.

I think, that's what make this board unique. This fan base is so much more knowledgeable then any other fan base. We don't just say we won/loss, but we can explain in detail why we won/loss. On one end, yeah, we won the game...but, we still have a lot to clean up. In times past, if we had an offense like we have now and a defense of the past....there would be no worries. But, there are question marks all over the defense. Will we win? Sure we will! But, which Steeler team will show up?

 

Sigh......... pot meet kettle..... The world is a place where people have different opinions. This is a fact that some can't deal with. The internet constantly reinforces this fact. Some fans deal with things in a different way. It doesn't make someone not a "true fan" if they're pessimistic. It doesn't make someone a super fan if they're optimistic. The problem is that some people use the internet as this perpetual echo chamber to validate their own opinions. Do I share the pessimistic or negative sentiments of some fans? No. But at the same time I actually have a certain sense of admiration for those that are willing to say what they really believe as opposed to just trying to fall in like sheep. Sometimes people engage in complete hyperbole to get their point across and that also is fine with me. I don't consider the "negative" fans here to be trolls. I only consider Real Steel to be that. Those guys are as die hard as me. They share in as much adulation and triumph as I do. They share in as much misery as I do. They just express their devotion differently. If I can't stand that then maybe I should find a place that can make me happy. Period. (steps off soapbox and everyone realizes I don't actually need it to be heard I just need it to look like I'm the same size as everyone else)

OP is right, you won't see too many other fan bases complaining after a 7 game winning but Steeler fans still aren't happy. It turns into they won but they didn't blow the opponent out, so then the fans try to discredit the 7 game winning streak .

 

Some people are optimistic, the rest of us are pessimistic. It takes both to make the world go 'round. Don't know why the optimist always has to play the "I'm a better fan than you" card all the time. People wouldn't dread the Steelers losing like the pessimist does if they didn't care about the team.
