well we seem to have a biggy ahead of us. troit at home is hard to handle. injuries all over the place. probably a game we win then. :smiley1: we need a secret weapon meal for this one. i'm thinking some good ol pulled pork sammies. the sauce will be decided at a further date. hopefully can find some good hard rolls.

Possibly haluski, just have a taste for it right now. Will have to consult with someone of the right ethnicity to make it correctly. I have no slavic blood, but love the food.

Don't know if it will be Saturday or Sunday, but I got some rack of lamb from Aldi ($9/lb instead of the ~$16/lb at my local warehouse store)!

Going to be cooking that up.

I generally do it pretty simple. Easy rub (probably just salt and pepper, maybe a little chili powder). Sear. Bake low and slow until internal temp of 125 F - 130F.

I like rack of lamb, but it doesn't make sense at $16/lb. I'd rather get a ribeye at that price..tastes better and not paying for the bones. Although I'd rather just get an under blade steak (I think the same as a Denver steak) for ~ $8/lb than paying for ribeye these days.

But at almost half the price it's an easy decision IMO. If this is their regular price, I might add this to a weekly rotation. Thinking of doing the carnivore diet in January (did that last year and lost some fat). And a rotation of rack of lamb, underblade steaks, and a bunch of eggs sounds pretty good.

Do you use any sour cream or ricotta cheese? I have heard of using both.

I got there two weeks ago and they were 50% off. Bought 7 at $4.99/lb. I have a freezer for just that reason.

Probably not the response you want but now that I’m retired I enjoy sitting on my hill with a fire and looking out at a winter storm.

Im stuck at work getting paid to watch the snow come down because no trucks are leaving in this storm lol. On the plus side it puts off the chore of clearing snow at home later.

Back in the day I heated up meals by sitting them on the top of a coke oven

And long ago I would heat cans of soup on my engine block while driving

may have to switch to something simple. so tired of looking at Christmas food already and it isn't even here yet. it's a 4:25 game so maybe just a burger on the grill. should be a little warmer here by gametime. :smiley1::cool:

On my first yacht job, the owner's wife would make burritos and wrap them in foil for our fishing trips, When we got hungry.....open the engine hatch and put them on the exhaust manifold to heat them. For some reason, they didn't want to run the generator. Fishing marlin and eating exhaust manifold burritos! Good times!

Got too busy to make haluski, resorting to 5 cheese lasagna from the store, plus coconut key lime pie and coffee.

    Likely Cheeseburgers for me.

Recently picked up two awesome Salt and Pepper Grinders for cooking. Both have been great. Gonna continue to see how they perform for other dishes.

Beverage?! Likely Coca Cola or water. Haven't decided that.

Today will be pre-Xmas errands, so we’re planning to hit a Greek restaurant for lunch in the area where we’re shopping. I’m thinking moussaka (or however the heck you spell it). I expect I’ll just be having a light snack during the game because I’ll still be stuffed.

UCONN hoops is playing at DePaul today at 4:30, so my TV will be doing a lot of switching back and forth.
