I get home Friday night. Now hanging out with deer, onyx, elk and bear. They literally walk through my relatives yard in New Mexico.

I was happy to have someone go to the trouble to feed me. It was very kind of them, I enjoyed my meal and the company.

I wouldn’t order it. But this is a different world here. This is normal for them. My great niece and great nephew went hunting and shot an oryx. They saddled up two horses, took I high powered rifle and head out alone in the southern New Mexico mountains. They shot and killed an oryx. Field dresses it and brought it home to be butchered. She is 8, he is 5.

A few weeks later the 13 year old cousin also did the same.

Deer give or take. They were having a discussion on which had a better tasting liver an oryx or an elk. I decided not to participate. Both times it was cooked with chile, onyx with green and elk with red. Once you add the chile, you probably wouldn’t know it wasn’t beef. I like New Mexican food food. It was good.

Going to Alamogordo for taco Tuesday and beer tomorrow.

I've eaten all the rest quite a few times, but never the Oryx. It's New 2 Me as of eating.
