My favorite version of Four on Six is the Smokin' at the Half Note version. I consider that album the absolute pinnalcle of jazz guitar. Anyone that loves music should experience it at least once in their lifetime.

They actually had some dark stuff. The Last Train to Clarksville is really dark. It's one of those songs that's deceptively dark. Born in the USA is sorta like that too.

I did try that. Decided it was a good movie and a good album but no correlation.

Exactly. What's crazy though is there used to be this tour called Dark Side of the Rainbow and it was a laser show set to Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz on the screen or something like that. The whole Dark Side of the Moon and Oz thing is a total myth. A cool myth but still a myth.

Ha, I remember that. I always wondered if this was real, but figured it was something you could only appreciate if you were on strong hallucinogenic drugs.

I was a doubter as well of this phenom but back in the mid-90's??? my daughters and their boyfriends and a few neighbors got together to be myth-busters on this issue and surprise surprise it actually worked for about 20 minutes into the movie and concluded the sync just after Dorothy lands in Oz and it turns technicolor. The key though is that you had to use the 33LP version of DS and the VHS version of the movie (CD and DVD versions didn't match up at all - extra seconds added/deleted from each). No drugs were involved (that I know of) and it was unanimous conclusion of about 8-10 people that it actually worked. Did Gilmour/Waters/Wright/Mason/Parsons (and Barrett in abstentia) intend this - who knows? But it was fun. Never tried playing Stairway to Heaven backwards or Beatles Day in a Life - another challenge for another day. :guitarplayer:

That tour came to the TN Theater in Knoxville about a year after I got out of high school. I never went to it but I wanted to back in the day. The funny thing is that the album is much shorter than the film but people still insist it was intended as an alternate soundtrack to the film. LOL! Has Dark Side of the Moon ever been tried with The Wiz? Or maybe I should say that The Wiz tried to set itself to Dark Side?
