what to do with Mike Adams?

what are we going to do when Gilbert gets healthy? do we move gilbert to left tackle and keep adams at RT? Would be a huge waste if he goes back to the bench.

 

Adams will likely go back to the bench next week. I wouldn't object to your idea if only to see what Gilbert could do on the left side.

 

I don't want Gilbert or Adams anywhere near the left side of the line unless necessitated by injury. Both of those guys belong on the right. As for Adams, bring him in as a second or third TE in some situations, but I think Gilbert gets his job back once fully healthy.

 

It's good he got some reps unfortunately at the expense of an injury and has played well. Even if he goes back to the bench he will be an asset when called upon. Or if Gilbert struggles.

 

Agreed, Beachum hasn't done anything to lose his spot, I don't think.

Adams impressed a bit yesterday. He definitely didn't hurt his stock that's for sure. I suspect Gilberts job is safe for now but he has to understand it appears he now has a capable guy waiting in the wings if he can't be consistent and get the job done. I know it was only 1 game but Adams did a fine job and I think some feel he's better suited at RT than Gilbert is anyhow.

I think you got to put Gilbert back in at RT. If he struggles then put in Adams.

 

I'd be cool with giving Gilbert a shot at LT, and keeping Adams slated at RT. We could then kick Beachum in to the LG position and be totally set across the line. Foster would become the top G backup who could also back up the RT position, and Cody Wallace should be able to handle the top Center back up with guard capabilities as well.

If Adams can keep his level of play at a high level, then maybe we don't need to be in the market for a tackle in next year's draft.

 

2 weeks ago everyone was saying this guy was a bust. Now everybody wants him to start over Gilbert. Everybody board the Mike Adams band wagon. Problem is that neither Gilbert or Adams play good at LT. Let Gilbert come back in at RT. He wasn't doing a bad job, if he struggles let Adams have at it.
