There is some really ugly tape on him completely whiffing on blocks.

And he hasn’t been a factor in the passing game, with Kenny struggling you would think Muth would be seeing a lot of action.

He’s definitely had some ugly whiffs in the last two games. He was never a beast of an in line blocker, but holy crap he’s been terrible at times this year

He’s been awful as a blocker this season. Blocking was never a strong point for him, but it’s gotten worse. He really stands out in some of the recent videos posted to point out Pickett’s issues.

Multiple young Steelers players regressing, seemingly for no reason...

He reminds me of my four year old grandson who’s playing soccer. He was leveled by a much bigger six year old boy and now does everything possible to avoid contact. Muth looked like he ducked on this block “attempt”. Let’s bring Heath in as a special consultant to show him how to block.

This explains the 0.2 yards before contact the RBs are facing.

Frieirmuth seems to have been written out of the passing threat by the great Jet Sweep 10 play.

He is not a true blocking tight end. Plus I wonder if the chest injury is still bothering him.

He needs to be Pickett's safety valve, not a decoy that is trying to block. That's why they drafted Washington and let Gentry go.

More accurately... he is no Heath Miller. But I still have hope for Muth.

Tomlin is on record as saying he has no patience for teaching WRs to catch, so that probably extends to a lot of techniques. He seems to want to assume that his pieces know how to move and exercise his big brain on the overall checkers strategy.

His slot usage has gone down dramatically this year.

Imagine sitting with the TE's going over this game film and wondering what might have been said by the position coach about this blocking technique? Something, anything, next play please? Curious since this is supposed to be highly compensated professionals playing.

He and the QB are both in danger of future concussions and having to make important Life decisions.

Well it's not like He hasn't been sent into routes. You can't make someone see You, or throw to You, and they can't see You, and throw to you if You are not open.

Steelers will have TEs that can score lots of TDs. They will have TEs that can block well. But they will never have another total package at TE in Heath Miller. Not gonna happen.

Steelers didn't win any Super Bowls after the 70's dynasty until Heath Miller was drafted. Truth!

I'm wondering if the chest injury is part of the problem, too. I'm sure Pickett's struggles don't help.

For some reason I feel that Pickett doesn't have a say. Not excusing his play but the whole offensive structure seems to be imploding. Not that I feel their is a structure with Canada more the players seem to have no clue what to do. Its quite alarming.

I'm a Virginian same as Miller. Miller and UVA whipped the crap out of my VA Tech Hokies the year before he was drafted. I was so happy when Steelers drafted him!

Heath was a good one, no question. Classic Cowher draft pick.

Are they actually regressing or did some of you put them on a pedestal a bit prematurely?
