I was coming home from work this week and 93.7 the fan here in PGH
was asking this of the listeners. I had to jog my memory a little. I am not sure,
and I have watched him at Pitt his whole career. He seems to be running MAD which I like. But
I am afraid of this shortening his career. Corey Dillion is a name that keeps coming up for me.
So who does he remind you of?

Eddie George is a very good comparison. I also agree with the Lynch observation.

I see the comparison to Eddie George. He run very upright, but with power and speed. He breaks quite a few tackles like Lynch, but I'm not sure he quite mirrors Beast Mode as much as George.

If it’s in media week before the Super Bowl like Lynch’s statement , I’ll be ok with it!

I couldn't really think of anyone Conner reminded me of. Eddie George is a close match. Both guys are upright runners. Both guys have a combination of speed and power. If he reminds me of anyone it would be George. I really don't see the Beast Mode comparison though.

First guy I thought of was Eddie George. Doesn't use much body lean, but Like Eddie, he punishes people and rarely goes down with first contact if he has a head start. He might not be as quick, but I think straight line speed is probably the same. Not that it makes a difference in performance, but James is a likeable player much like Eddie.

With all this Eddie George talk, can't help but thinking of the mid air crush that Big Snack put on Eddie back in early 2000's where he blacked out before he hit the ground and Steelers recovered his fumble that was still in his hands but not secured. :club:

I also remember Eddie George and the Titans owning the Steelers from 98-00. The Titans, Jaguars and Ravens put a regular whoopin' on the Steelers.... it was a brutal time. Pre-Heinz Field with many free agent losses and void of talent on offense. Bettis was the entire offense back then.

Love the Eddie George comparison. Conner is an upright runner (like many nowadays) but runs with power. He’s a one cut type of guy and is very difficult to bring down. Solid vision, good burst, nice blocker, and has really turned into a threat receiving the ball as well. I like this kid a lot, and feel like we won’t miss Bell too badly when he walks.
