I don't see them drafting Ben's successor in the 2021 draft, they will have too many other needs, I'm more concerned about getting into the playoffs this season.

A good general manager is always looking long term.

going to add another guy on my watchlist....DT Jonathan Marshall Arkansas 6'3 317. Just a tad bigger than Gravedigger when he came out. But he has that same quickness and doesn't just rely on size. He's got 6 pressures on the QB in under 2 seconds, yes 2. Leads the nation right now.

Alualu has been a beast that's for sure but he's 33. No idea where Marshall will go in the draft yet, but he'd slide right into the type the Steelers would like imo. Unlike the Florida State player mentioned in the article above, I think Marshall may be a better fit.

As the article mentions, Jay Tufele is another guy I'd be interested in as he's pretty athletic himself. USC player.

You say that despite crapping on the idea that they would be looking for Ben’s replacement next year.

I mean, Pittsburgh really was not supposed to in 2018 but the team selected Mason Rudolph. Who is to say Pittsburgh will not be looking at QBs in 2021?! I would not rule it out.

Agree with all of it. Inside Linebacker is definitely something I would like to have at the top but am not sure about just yet. That said, if Dylan Moses is somehow there, I would nab him in a heartbeat.

If not him, Cameron Mcgrone and Jabril Cox would be stellar options. I would say Chazz Surratt but at 24 years of age, that is a bit too old for the Steelers liking.

Mac Jones and Phil Jurkovec. Those two have been quite good thus far. Definitely would not mind either in Rounds 2 or 3.

Watched LT Sam Cosmi - Texas in that crazy Red River showdown today. Some think he'll be available when we pick (wherever that is, hopefully late). Good mover but doesn't seem overly strong. Oklahoma's rush on that side wasn't very inspiring though. Didn't think he was tested by too many stunts etc. Guy to keep an eye on though.

He has all the athletic tools one could ever want in a Left Tackle. Him putting it all together is another set of challenges. It will be interesting to see how well he fares.

Might have to add Cornerback. That said, likely too early to give up on Justin Layne. He is a gifted athlete who I believe has starting potential.

If he were to pan out as a starting cb it would make colberts job significantly easier

It would. That said, cannot give up on Justin Layne just yet. Still too early to write him off.

I would say these are my top position needs in order:

    1. C
    2. RB
    3. TE
    4. ILB
    5. S

surratt just turned 24, 3 days ago. has a good 8-10 years. you get him this whole season at 24. it's not like he's turning 25 during his rookie year. next 25, 26, 27, 2nd contract at 27 probably in his prime, say 4 years he would be 31 by the end of it. not out of the question. vince was 23.

We already have some Tackles on the roster who MIGHT be able to do the job.

The draft seems deep on Tackles so it is something that might be able to wait on Draft day.

Plus, I'm not sure Big Al is gone just yet. Nothing to go on, just a hunch. I think he would entertain the idea of coming back.

They don't have anybody on the roster with NFL experience at LT, let AV walk, he can't run block.

I believe a CB will be our 1st pick.

Not yet. I just believe that's what we will take. I'm still looking at everyone. Harder 2 do this year. I don't trust ,or like pro days. Also . I'm not saying it's what I would do, or they should do. I'm just saying that's what I think they will do. In the 1st.

Zaven Collins is REALLY beginning to pique my interest... same goes for Wyatt Davis. That said, Wyatt Davis cannot play Center so the likelihood of the Steelers using a pick on him is unlikely.
