When they win, i'm high. Pep in the step, good for the next day.
When they lose, i'm low. Dark cloud the rest of the day as well as the next.
No explanation, I am a Steeler Fan.

The 1989 loss to the Broncos in the divisional round was the worst for me. It was the last time I watched a Steeler playoff game with my late brother.

And the 2nd worst loss for me was in 1994. That game devastated me.

    Frustration

Because I remember the 5-6 plays that changed the game

When they lose to teams that are bottom feeders is the worst, giving up 4 turnovers because they lack concentration is inexcusable, I cant rank any lose worse than the two superbowl losses however, superbowl losses are unforgettable, regular season losses hurt but don't rank anywhere close to losing a superbowl......

I remember that game like it happened yesterday. They fumbled the snap right when they were getting ready to score to take the lead. My entire apartment was completely trashed within 2 minutes thanks to my very drunk roommate.

I HATE it when the Steelers lose! In years past, I've been known to throw things at the TV, get in physical altercations, punch the wall and basically just go into a deep, dark depression when the Steelers lose. Like many have said, I don't enjoy listening to any football talk or watching football games when the Steelers lose. The worst part for me is having to wait a week to avenge the loss! And losing a playoff game and knowing that it will be 7 long months before seeing them play again is just the worst! And the two Super Bowl losses....UGH!!!:frustrated:

Now, it has gotten better over the years as I've matured (don't get my wife's opinion on this). I still hate it when we lose but when we lose about as often as we win you kind of get used to it and I don't like that. I've even watched games with the expectation that we'd lose over the last few seasons and somehow that seems to take the pressure off just a little bit. That's why I was so MAD after last week's debacle! Mad at MYSELF for falling into the trap of believing that we may have finally turned the corner. Maybe we were starting once again to establish our superiority. Maybe we weren't going to lose to "clearly inferior teams" anymore. Maybe Tomlin, DL and Haley would ALWAYS have the team prepared to play so that we don't come out flat and fall behind 17-0 to the likes of the Jets. Maybe Ben was even evolving to the next level where he would finally achieve elite status and would be the consistent field commander that he's shown he can be and that he and his receivers would be on the same page. Maybe the switch has been flipped and some of these young defensive players are finally starting to get it. Maybe, maybe, maybe...

Boy was I wrong! I get mad all over again just thinking about it!

When I was younger I used to get all bent out of shape when they lose but now I can tell within the first 5 minutes if they will lose or not. It's pride for me. I have so much steelers memorabilia that it's hard not to run into someone who mentions the lost.

I usually record all the games they win but erase the games they lose. I haven't watched either superbowl they lost and probably won't.

My sons take it harder than I do now. But I when I was there age I used to be the same.

I used to to really get bent out of shape, I still do sometimes. I live in Cowboys country so it's tough lol. I usually get over a loss in about 20 min. We can't control the outcome so need to let it go. When steelers win I usually don't let it go for a week :D

Steeler losses can make it a bad day or more. For me, the worst is losing to the Patriots. My expectations (especially for the D) are lower this year, so it is hurting a bit less. If the Steelers lose but my fantasy teams win, it will soften the blow. I would rather Steelers win then my fantasy teams win, even though there are no financial consequences for Steeler wins or losses.

Steelers losses don't affect me as much now as the last few years. I have fallen back into the 1980's mind-set where if we win it's awesome but if we lose I expect it. Prolonged mediocrity will do that to a fan.

For me it's just the frustration of feeling like they should have been able to win but weren't able to pull it off. Especially this year. They've shown that they can dominate, but then they come out and fall flat with no explanation. It's that hope of victory that is popped like a balloon that frustrates me.

I remember that feeling from that game very well. And then later to find out that that was one of the games that was part of Spy Gate made it ever worse b/c I feel that the Steelers really could have won that game if the Pats didn't have all of that inside info.

A lot of the playoff losses are just burned into my memory. The 94 AFCCG was so deflating. Then in 96 after pounding hairball and the colts in the wild card game, we go to NE and the pats crush us 21-3. Then Denver got us in our house in 97, Rod Smith killed us if I remember correctly. 2001 And 2004 AFCCG hurt the most for me though. To lose those games at home against the cheats just gets to me still to this day.

Having gone to every AFCCG since 95; 97,01 and 04 hurt really bad. Especially in 01 and 04 as I was living in MA at the time and had to deal with the Patriot fans for all those years.

I don't and won't, turn on ESPN or the NFL network for the entire week if they lose and I hate night games because I don't sleep either. What makes it worse is when it is a team like the Jets, I think that I can finally have a good sunday and watch the Steelers dominate and after the first quarter I turn it off as I know when they look like that for a full quarter, they aren't going to get better, especially if they are behind by 2 scores.

Honestly, you guys should just leave NFL Network on because they seem to rarely talk about the Steelers. They spend most of their time talking about the cowgirls, pats, and broncs. With a little bit of the colts mixed in for good measure. I watch playbook sometimes and it seems in the past 2 weeks they've not said anything about the Steelers. I've also watched some "pick 'em" segments and the Steelers game wasn't even listed. Maybe Roger doesn't want us getting free press? LOL.

For some reason, the loss to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl (SB 30?) was the one that hit me the hardest. I think because we were such underdogs and then actually came back in got into it...The AFCG vs. the Chargers was rough too.

I just really hate losing - to answer the question - but I don't mind it if the effort was there. Its the asleep at the wheel crap that I REALLY don't like.

I shut off the TV and laid there on the couch looking at the screen for an hour. That was one of the worst for sure.

Stupid SB video they made, totally over looked the Chargers.

It causes me to drink to much,it forces me to watch a week long of bad tape on NFL rewind , I have to take flack from other fans all week , i can't sleep good until the next win , it takes away my appetite ....Basically way to much going on when we don't Win , the Team should have more concern for my well being and stop all this torment caused by their poor performance ASAP......

Before the standard was the standard, I used to be infuriated after a loss. Obviously things have since changed, since they don't really even effect me any more. Obviously.
