No doubt, the Steelers will have to look at other options at this position during the offseason

The Packers have been on a roll after we beat them. They are going to make the NFC playoffs.

I'd say Murray's skill wasn't as bit of a factor as a defense that fell apart after losing another linebacker.

I'd say the freaked out part was made up and it was Austin who was open, not the tight end.

I'd say you are making up the bit about Trubisky.

I'd say the bit about playing down to the competition is more of an eye test thing. It's one thing if they had lost to the Rams or Raiders. Those are bad, but competitive teams. The Cardinals are awful. I think two teams this year came into games against them expecting things to be easy and never really woke up, and that is how they got victories over the Cowboys and Steelers. Otherwise, they have been dog****.

They started to move the ball when he first came in, then Cole fired a snap at his shoes. The next time they took the field, it was a 14-point deficit for a team reeling from injuries with an offense that isn't very good, so it's not easy to judge. He had a couple of good performances in relief last season, too, or at least good enough to beat the Patriots if the defense can hold it together and smother the Pats like everybody else does.

I'd say read again. I was referring to Austin....I never said TE....I said TD. Try again. I'd say Since leaving Chicago he has done nothing, but lose games he has started, and games he has come in.....now You will go on, on about 2 wins, and the one game against Tampa he came in , and won, but will skip all the others He has lost. Still the funniest part of this....You jumped on try to be funny, and messed it all up with somehow thinking I said TE. LoL

Aside from the terrible snap, what the heck is Cole doing here in the second clip? It wasn’t a run play so he wasn’t moving to his next block, he just lets his man go and runs away.

Center is number 1 priority this draft. I know some will be tempted to say QB but they are already drafting too far down to get the best ones.

Exactly, he’s supposed to be a serviceable center and he showed that last year.

    Nope wrong there.

Minka also broke his hand around the same time Roberts went out. Tomlin said he was casted up during the first delay. There was a lot of screaming about why they didn't rotate Minka down to stop the TE or up in run support, but at that point he was playing with a broken hand.

So Minkah wasn’t in on that 99 yard drive? If that’s case it’s understandable just from a communication standpoint alone. I have never seen so many injuries in one year.

It’s hard to build any continuity when so many players are out. Just hard season to watch.

He was out there the whole drive and I didn't see him favoring it at all unless it was on the TD that he hurt it.

It's casted up starting the 3rd quarter, I don't know how we all missed seeing that in-game! The broadcast crew missed it as well. Minka played the whole second half in a cast and no one saw it!?

There's a reason they suddenly became good on 3rd downs in that game. Doesn't excuse the offense one bit or the defense, but they sure did become better after those 2 key injuries.

Not completely...if they move the ball consistently early ....they win. They just never get off to a good start. They cannot move the ball consistently enough on offense. I watched the Bengals- Jags game...it's like they are playing a different sport. I love my Steelers. I am an eternal optimist. But no, if they had just moved the ball consistently to start the game...the Cards would have been that team that quit....unfortunately, it was us.

I thought the players themselves said they didn't take AZ seriously. No?

Ive been busy as hell the last few days and kind of lost track of this thread. Instead of replying to individual posts........... Here's some comments on things posted in this thread.

Yes, Kenny Pickett is 100% a better QB than Mitch Trubisky. Yes it 100% makes a difference who is in there. I am not saying Kenny is even a top 15 QB, but Trubisky is awful.

Let's not pretend that these injuries happened with the game already decided. That is just not accurate. Pickett went down at the freaking goal line, with the Steelers about to take the lead. Roberts, Minkah, and Seumalo were all inured with the game still within reach.

The Cardinals would not have been a 2-10 football team if Kyler Murray and James Conner were healthy all season. They were competitive even without them. With them they are an average football team that is better than their record.

Why on earth does anyone ever think the Steelers are going to blow anyone out????? That was never going to happen. We can't even score 20 points. Doesn't matter who the opponent is. We are only a few points better than even bad teams, and that's when we are healthy.

The whole "we overlooked em" debate doesn't hold any water for me. The Steelers were playing the same game that they had been playing all season. The offense had moved the ball, but failed to score touchdowns. The defense was playing well. Everything turned around when Kenny Pickett got hurt. The injuries kept coming, and things snowballed from there. This notion that the Steelers came out flat and got blown out is false.

How many defeats do we have to witness like this until it does hold water for you? I used to push back on that narrative as well but eventually when it continues to walk like a duck ya have to wonder hey, that actually might be a duck.

Normally I would agree, just not for this game. This game was playing out just like every other Steelers game has this season. Once Pickett got hurt and the Steelers got stuffed at the 1, momentum shifted, and things went downhill from there. All the injuries on defense, and a Trubisky lead offense made a comeback unlikely. Even if the Steelers did take the Cardinals lightly, that's not why they lost.

I need to keep reminding you of the games against Tampa and Carolina because you ignore them.

Yeah, I thought you wrote TE, no TD. My bed. Unlike you, I can admit when I make a mistake.

It is why they didn’t already have a double digit lead when Pickett got hurt, so it played a big role in the defeat.
