Neither do you and that's your opinion. So we are back at square one. That's why I tend to favor what he meant to the organization between the lines because I have seen it with my own eyes. He was a great football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. No one can deny that.

    That's because he wasn't playing.

He still had some situational pass rushes left in him and it could have opened up some for the other guys to get him on the field with his reputation alone.

Mind boggling how they kept dressing him and not playing him. Same with McCullers! They dressed this guy all year and he had less than 5 snaps!

Yes plenty of excuses as to how the coaches handled the situation. 100% correct on most accounts if you ask them but at the same time absolutely no excuse for JHs actions whether he was lied to or not. Some will claim " well things changed so it's ok that they didn't fulfill their promise. Keep trying that in regular day life.
Let me know how that turns out They made a commitment to him then simply had a change of plans and JH was supposed to accept that? He asked for his release on many occasions but it was refused. They made a business decision to keep him for insurance . He made a business decision to try and force his release and it finally worked only after they needed his roster spot for a returning player. At that point his options were extremely limited as to what playoff teams would even give him a shot. He simply chose the one that showed the most interest and had the highest likelihood of success. A lot of his critics even claim that they wouldn't be as upset if he didn't go to NE. Like I said us fans care about the rivalries more than the players and 99% of the people who are upset would of done the same exact thing if they were in his shoes.
No he was supposed to just go away and disappear into oblivion. He was supposed to show loyalty to the team. When the team showed no loyalty to him by not keeping their commitment.

Or teach him how to run an int back 100 yards in a SB.. That seems to be the golden ticket to let you do anything to some Steelers fans.

Look, MT and co. handled his situation poorly. And JH was a little b***h in how he handled it. And he promptly signed with one of our arch rivals (did anyone not see that coming?). Admitted.

But to boil JH's career down to one play and imply that's the reason why a lot of people here still love him is absurd. The guy did so much more for this franchise than just a splash play in the SB.

Yeah, he left to play for the Bengals and retired. Beat his wife. We gave him a lot of passes but I'm sorry. Enough is enough... Acting the way he did over PT and joining our arch rivals to try to tie us in Super Bowls. Trashing Tomlin every chance he gets and trying to sabotage our team from within.

Nice post man careful you will get grouped with the wrong people for saying something nice about JH. One question who is the leader in sacks as a Steeler???????? 80 sacks is more than one play

I'm not giving him a pass. I was just pointing out that his career here was more than just one play and people glorify him for more than that as well, which is what your insinuation was in the post I quoted.

He wasn't great last year , so I don't care if he didn't get that much playing time.

Personally, I dislike AB twice as much as I ever will Silverback. My son wore his shirt to the game along with a ton of other fans that I saw and he has the audacity to screw the team, the fans and the ownership by not practicing and then expecting to play? At least James was there at 5 am everyday working his tail off only to be deceived about getting playing time which he never saw any opportunity.

This will be James when he's done using his 2 puppets ( Bell and Brown) to get back at Tomlin for not playing him.
