The Raiders cut him after the 2012 season and I don't think he played at all in 2013. I thought he is a very dominant DL who can play DE. He had some monster games in Oakland. He is 34yrs old but I think he can give another 2 years. I know when he was traded to the Raiders, he held out because he didn't want to play in Oakland.
I'm really surprised that no team has claimed him including his former team the Patriots. Does he have other baggage that I'm not aware of? I think he'll look good playing opposite side to Cameron Heyward.

Last I knew he wanted a mint to play for a one year deal. He thought his phone would ring off the hook, but no one wanted to take the cap hit for a one year rental on an oft fined DE who can't control himself.

If we are bringing a 34 year old DE why not just bring back the beard

His play did kind of drop off though...he kinda slowed down in Oakland, he wasn't even the best defensive linemen on Oakland's line if I remember correctly?

I have my own general rule that says "if Bill doesn't want them they are done". How many guys has he ever let go that has gone on to play their best footall post pats? I mean Welker is ok but he still hasn't won a ring either. I think the pats use the same philosophy that we do in letting guys go. We rarely have regrets and I'd say they do too.
