With JuJu out I'm not sure why Ben wouldn't want JW in the game, he's the only receiver that will go up and battle for a catch right now and Ben needs all the help he can get.

No, it really isn't the only explanation. In fact, it makes no sense at all.

The explanation that does make sense is the real difference between Johnson and Washington. Johnson can consistently get separation from defensive backs. Washington can't. It really is that simple.

I don't think he has so much power, someone else mentioned that Ben may not want him on the field, so I was just responding to that possibility. However, Ben has been the face of the franchise for 17 years and won a couple Super Bowls so I think he does have some say in the offense.

A bunch of nonsense to think Ben has control of Washington's playing time.

I'm certain that I never said Ben controls Washington's playing time. I did say, however, that I don't know why Ben wouldn't want him on the field because he's the only receiver right now that can make a combat catch. Indirectly, Ben does control JW's playing time, in that, if he doesn't fit into what Ben and Canada are doing with the offense or what Ben is capable of doing with the offense then he isn't going to be on the field, which in my opinion is a shame because he will battle for a catch and is sure-handed.

Exactly. How often do we see 2 TE sets? Why even worry about the slot.

Washington is being used incorrectly. But since DJ gets open he can fumble and drop the ball at high rate? James Washington dropped one ball and was never given a real chance ever again.

DJ has 1 drop on 50 targets this year.

Washington has 1 drop on 14 targets.

Somehow on this board the myth started that Washington doesn’t drop passes. Last year he had 4 on 56 targets.

Unfortunately, Hilliard also explained that Ray-Ray was JuJu's top backup in the slot, which makes no sense. Then he said they'd try Washington out in the slot, where he really doesn't fit.

Along with Butler inserting Spillane into the dime and this coaching staff doesn't seem to know how to best use the talent on hand.

Don’t forget the “we fired all our bullets”, lot of concerning things being said/done by the coaches this year.

Funny watching Ray-Ray out there playing on offense, I have the same thoughts as when I was watching Ryan Switzer play.

Who is putting him on the field for so many plays??? And that was a "You'd be better off asking Ben"
