I would be intrigued by Hines Ward as an OC. I just think he embodies so much of the old Steelers culture that zi feel we have lost. I just don’t know how innovative he is or how he is with X’s and O’s

I thought I read there is a slight issue between him and Tomlin, otherwise I can't believe he hasn't been brought back even as a WR coach. Hopefully he will be in the future. So many people say Ben as OC but I think Ben doesn't want to put the work in. I love him but my gut says sorta lazy.

I would say Ryan Leaf. His calm, cool demeanor is what Kenny needs in this difficult time in his career, along with his pedigree and success in the league.

Yeah I would not want Ben. I don’t think X’s and O’s were his forte. I would rather have Batch.

No one worth their salt will ever come coach for the Steelers their career will end thanks to Tomlin you’d have to be crazy to accept the position it’s a dead end and tell me I’m wrong !!!!

Another former QB is Fitzpatrick he is an ex IVY Leaguee and he played in a million different offenses. So he is smart and has the knowledge.

If you think anyone that is decent will come sabotage their career with the Steelers your crazy first they pay crap, second you got Tomlin in total control it’s a lost cause

The question should be who would you want as an OC that would actually do it? lol

Ben won't do it. I think he absolutely could, but he is happy with the low stress life and podcast. He is not coming back to the grind.

You are not going to get anyone that is doing analyst stuff with the networks. Those guys are making insane money and are not going to take a massive pay cut to be an OC.

We need someone from outside that has new ideas. Find someone that is ready to be an OC elsewhere and bring them in. Or maybe even try and make a deal with a current OC that he is being groomed to replace Tomlin as HC?

He has a cushy broadcasting career now. No need to get stressed out with a coaching position. I say take a chance with Randle-El or even Duce Staley. Both are cutting their teeth with the Lions right now

Tomlin will never hire a competent coach because if it went well he would feel inferior. I’ve been seeing his pattern for over a decade now. The guy is simply insecure and not that bright. Look at all the rejects he’s hired and all the successful individuals that were forced elsewhere. There’s no room for a possible new Conductor on his Gravy Train Express!

I hate to burst people's bubbles, but Mike Tomlin is not hiring, or firing anyone. He makes suggestions, and pushes for things, but that's it.

Do you think Omar will have equal say in coaching hires as Tomlin?

I would bet that this maybe the 1st time Tomlin has more say. Everyone else has been here longer than Tomlin until now. There is many examples of Tomlin being overruled. You think Tomlin wanted to be the HC, and not be able to bring in the D He wanted??? They made Him go with not only their DC, but their system. Arians, and Tomlin hung together....Arians, His wife, and Ben all said Tomlin had no say about letting Arians go, and hiring Haley.....yet everyone believes that Tomlin makes all the hiring, and draft picks. If He has any real power now is the 1st time. With a new GM

Yup....it really is pathetic when you think about it...A boss who really isn't a boss.. It's amazing the respect he gets, cause in the real world nobody ( workers) would respect him!!

He's not the boss. He reports to the GM who reports to the owner. That's every franchise. Not being properly empowered is not his fault, that's on his bosses, just as in the real world.

Despite what people think of Tomlin - as a HC who been tenured for this long and (I can’t believe it either) “past success” he wields a LOT more than just suggestions.
