Here is what I want to see:

    1) No injuries to any more Steelers PERIOD!!!

    2) Better protection from the offensive line

    3) Better pass coverage from our DBs

    4) Make Andrew Luck understand the NFL is not as easy as it appeared last week?

    5) Todd Haley without showing too much (or not showing anything at all) still demonstrating that even when he is not trying to game plan, he can still out coach B.A.

What do you want to see?

I want to see continued progress from Ben. I didn't get to see much footage from last week but when he went with the quick dump-offs and the underneath stuff he kept his jersey clean. No? when he tried the deeper stuff with seven step drops the outside rush got to him. So I want to see that he really is getting that dumping the ball off isn't a bad thing but getting a sack fumble is a drive killer.

I want to see them work the play-action off a strong rushing attack with Batch, Dywer and Rainy gettings some good reps.

I want to see defensive pressure because if the Rams can get pressure on Luck with their defense I want to see what a serious upgrade in that area can do.

and yes demonstrate to Luck that there is a difference between a team that is building from the ground up(rams) and a team that is a contender. I guarantee after the film I saw last week that he will try to thread the needle at least once maybe twice, maybe even three times so pick it off. They gave him a safety valve on alot of those plays but he went downfield into double coverage alot of the time just like Ben so get him to do it agian.

    What they said! ^ above,
With the addition of whatever aspect of the game, they want to work on this week!!!
Last week was obviously geared towards screens, and short passes, and I would have guessed that this week would have been focused on the running game, until we got hit by the injury bug, at that position, so...
I just want to see them get better at whatever they want to work on this week...
And, giving Luck a bit of hard luck, with dealing with a REAL defense, would be a bonus, but I think we will have to do it with a bit of a "Vanilla" defense, and a few backups who have a great chance to audition, tomorrow night.
    GO STEELERS!!!

These two are going to have to go hand in hand. On the other hand, I would rather Luck plays a blinder against us, and walks into the regular season with a misplaced sense of confidence, so we can break him when it counts.

I'd like to see all the things already mentioned. In particular, I'd like to see how the learning curve on the o-line is going. How quickly they can learn and adjust is key to our success this year - it's why Pouncey was so good in his rookie season.

Of course all the above, I will add crisp hitting and execution.
I do not care for the new CBA, it does not allow players to work on hiiting,
and as you see in these exhibition games, it really shows. just another ruination
    of the league. Thanks players.

Let's see here....here are my stretch goals for tonight:

    1. Someone steps up and shows that we are in good hands at ROLB. Obviously, Carter is in the spotlight. What other options might we see, besides Timmons? Not much. Also looking forward to Adrian Robinson, no matter where they line him up. Could be a good development prospect on the PS.

    2. A final roster spot at WR is claimed. I want to see how Clemons handles the big stage, if he can get open. Will Maze show he's got more than quickness? Do we have to settle for Williams? Is it likely that if no one clearly separates from the pack, we keep one less receiver and go with an exta RB? ie. Rainey takes that roster spot?

    3. More competition for the CB spot opposite Ike. I DO NOT want to see someone win this spot by default. I want to see 2 or 3 guys making this decision very difficult for the coaching staff.

    4. Finally, can someone put some serious pressure on Larry Foote? By all accounts, he's looked good in camp. I don't really care about that, as a seasoned pro, he should be solid in camp. I also know that he clearly stood out as the weak link before being traded tone Lions. If anyone here is excited about Larry at ILB, then what does that say about the overall performance level of our LB core as a whole? Can Sly show he's at least got the physical prowess to anchor that spot? Is it even plausible to think Spence could see game action this year, or can I even dream that he could push for a starting role? Doubtful, but That's why they're stretch goals.

And for the typical improvement areas:

    1. Execution that is crisp and deliberate regarding scheme and discipline, for both O and D. And, of course, similar improvement in the details, especially regarding penalties and individual assignments. Not expecting mid season form, just a healthy jump from last week.

    2. RB's playing to the standard. I fully expect we will be hapy with what we see from all 3 backups. I haven't felt this good about our RB depth, talent, and versatility in some time. Midseason with Mendy, Redman, Dwyer, Rainey, maybe Batch? That's a superb lineup.

    3. The DE looking like they just need someone to tell them "sick em"! There's no reason to think this group shouldn't be among the best in the NFL.

    4. Can #8 unseat Charlie? Talk about a great opportunity for this young man.

    5. Consistent and solid Safety play. Not expecting anything spectacular, but would be nice to see someone start living up to Troy and Clark's standard.

I think the OL will be too experimental to judge as a unit, but would like to see the interior 3 dominate 1 on 1's

Will we see more of Haley's plan?

    Should be fun tonight.

Out of all that has been said, number 4 is spot on! I would love to see this question answered. What is p with our ILB core? IMHO, Foote is not the answer. I think he is a weakness. He is just a stop gap because he kows the defense relally well, but he can't cover the top TE's in the league, like Gronk from the Pats, or RB's out of the back field. What is up with Sly, why hasn't shown enough to unset Foote? Can Spence get some major time and get the job done, in the process, unset Foote? I think the defense is solid everywhere else but at Foote's position.

To be fair, most people couldn't cover Gronk last season. The fact that Foote still holds the position means he is not as bad as people are making him out to be OR no one is good enough to unseat him.

i think the fact they are letting other guys make the calls ( timmons-johnson) and these same guys along with spence playing both positions, doesn't say foote won't be unseated at some point. it's only the second game of preseason.

No serious injuries to serious players.

A turnover from our starting defense.

A solid outing from Marcus Gilbert at both positions.

Good CB play from 23, 28, and 31.

Sean Spence showing that he is neither too slow nor too weak to handle the position.

Pass rush pressure from 96, 97, and 90.

Penetration from Ta'amu in any part of the game.

Aside from no injuries, I really just want to see the young guys look more comfortable and show progress from last week's debut.

Oh, and a bubble screen picked for 6 by one of our LB's. :hehehe:
